For example, I got both the single Grindhouse BDs for 9.99 each. Of course that's a ripoff compared to 13.99 for both.

Maybe she doesn't have an hdtv yet. Who cares why she's posting in here. I kept up on this forum long before I ever got into HD DVD/Blu-ray.

I think it's totally fine, how many times has someone hoped for blu-ray release when it would be DVD only?

I don't, and I am very tight with money right now, that I can't afford to go out and buy a BR player regardless of how 'cheap' they are. I certainly won't buy a player just to get one film that's not being released on dvd if that's what the studio is hoping will happen. Also while I can see why some older films may not be released on BR since the studio isn't sure they'd sell enough to justify the cost of producing the discs. It makes no sense for a newer film to not be released on both formats, especially one that should have been released three years ago.

Hm... I'd be far more excited about a Kill Bill: Whole Bloody Affair with extras and commentary and stuff... Not to derail the thread, just to add my 2-cents on missing Tarantino epics.

That's what happened with DVD and game consoles. There's always that one game or movie that can get someone to keep up with technology.

I think this Grindhouse news is a good portent for the amalgamated Kill Bill epic.

Uhm....what? Maybe the producers of BD players hope that that's what gets you in..but RR could care less about you going Blu for his form. BUT he does care that you buy it.

Again why are u posting in the HD thread if you are not a bluray owner and have zero intentions of buying one even with the low cost players out there?

Where is the information coming that there's not going to be a DVD release? Just because it's not up on Amazon right now doesn't mean there won't be one.

Maybe because this is the most current thread with discussion on this film? I will buy a player when I can afford to, and right now I can not,it's pretty simple really.

I am hoping that is the case, but after what happened with Rambo extended cut which was announced on both formats, then suddenly the listings for the dvd disappeared,I'm a bit concerned.

So I will remain cautiously optimistic at this point, but since the company has released early news of the release and only give details that it's on BR has me concerned since they could easily announce the release date for both formats and leave it at that.

Very nice - especially for $13.99. I like that they put the theatrical on one disc and the individual movies on the second disc.

It doesn't look like that to me. It looks like the special features are just grouped under the movie they belong to, on the Disc 2 breakdown. Doubt they would be able to cram 3+ hours of movie plus all those special features on one disc.

Ah - got it. So no individual movies on disc 2. Now I'm glad I only paid $13.99.

Set looks awesome, so far. I was at the final step on the preorder page when it was $13.99 but I'm moving between now and then and my office is moving too... so I decided not to preorder at that time. Haha, whoops. Eh, still will pick it up though... even with the extra $$ it will be worth it.

Machete was a part of Planet Terror, so I'd assume that's why it isn't listed separately

I'm actually shocked they're throwing in ALL of the bonus material created for this. All of the extras from the previous sets seem to be in tact.

Goddamn... that's one fine lookin' BD they put together for this.

Once again, allow me to gloat with glee about the ridiculous $13.99 pre-order price.

Can't complain much for the price I paid but it somehow feels incomplete without the extended cut available.........

Re: Rumor: Grindhouse Coming to Bluray? (EDIT:Yup! Oct. 5th!)

I am kinda surprised they are incuding ALL the extras from the Extended Editions. Now there will be overlap if you own both the Theatrical and Extended Versions. I kinda would have liked just the new extras and leave the other stuff on the extended editions. I plan on owning both
