"To Live and Die in L.A." delayed?

At best the DVD will be included, but wasn't this delayed because it was to be a tie-in for another MGM film? With the crisis MGM is in I'm not even sure that film will actually come out (production on all films is halted). This might very well be the last MGM Blu-ray release for a while.

I'm not sure 100% how its handled, but I believe MGM still has to produce the title, Fox simply handles distributing it out to retailers. Fox might handle Fame though (it has not been announced yet). Besides To Live... I don't see another MGM title announced on Blu-ray.

Dear Fox,
Please purchase MGM so that you all can get back to releasing the remaining Bond titles on BD....do not allow Warner to buy MGM as they cannot be trusted to continue to give us the high quality AVC encodes and DTS-HD MA tracks that all the previous titles have received.....knowing them, they'd give us some low bitrate VC-1 with lossy DD just so they can cheap out and use BD-25 discs...
That is all, K THX!

^ No, but it looks like this is another MGM fuck-up, with the film on the BD and all the extras included on a DVD.

If that's the case I'm probably going to pass or wait for it to be super cheap. I had the DVD SE, so if this doesn't get absolutely TOP MARKS in the PQ/AQ it won't be going in my collection.

^Friedkin tampered with French Connection for BD and it looks terrible. Everyone is afraid he's going to do the same thing to this & all his films. Nothing is wrong with the current dvd.

Pertinent points from the DVD Beaver review:
The disc is dual-layer and MPEG-4 - What a relief!
Okay the Blu-ray disc itself only has a theatrical trailer and some previews BUT this is a 2 disc affair and the second disc is the old Special edition DVD complete with the film (in SD) and the excellent commentary by director William Friedkin, 1/2 hour featurette: Counterfeit World: The Making Of To Live And Die In L.A., a deleted scene and an alternate ending plus some discussion of the removed scene, and finally a Photo Gallery.
Everything visually has improved - fleshtones colors radically tighten up but detail appears to be the biggest recipient of the 1080P resolution. The disc is dual-layered with a very high bitrate. There is some varying degrees of healthy grain visible on the progressively transferred Blu-ray. Darker scenes show a bit of noise but overall this is a stupendous video rendering. I'm extremely impressed with the presentation it gave from controlled tight black levels to a dramatic escalation in sharpness and detail. This looks as good as I have ever seen To Live and Die in L.A. - WOW - LOVE that combination of grain and detail!
