Looks like the release date falls within the B&N sale, let's hope they make enough copies as I expect this one to be a good seller. I'll definitely be picking it up.

For a while there, walmart.com had preorders for 52% off and free shipping, so it was slightly less ($23.99 + tax) than it'd be at the B&N sale, but it looks like the price shot up in the past couple days.

Amazon had matched it, so I went with them instead.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

I am impressed with CCs customer service. I started watching my copy of the Ingmar Bergman's Cinema set that I bought 2 years ago, and when I got to Disc 9 (From the Life of the Marionetts/Hour of the Wolf), during FtLotM the disc would lock up and skip ahead. Checking the disc I saw it was scratched. I emailed CC complaining about the packaging that they used for the set damaging the disc and after sending pictures and a video they sent me a replacement disc.I kind of figured at this point I was screwed and would have to deal with a problem disc.

I just saw an ad on FB for UV doing a 35% off Criterion sale. It's annoying enough that we don't get 50% off, like our US friends, but now it's only 35% ?

I guess it's worth it, for the speedy, reliable service, and quality of the product.

For what it's worth, I grabbed five titles at B&N today. Opened them up an four out of five had visible scratches on the discs.
They all, umm, "QC'ed" just fine in my PC, though.

Jesus. What the hell is going on with CC? I always check mine, when I get them, but I'm starting to feel I should re-check my last purchases.

The number of plants still pressing discs has dwindled, and the remaining ones are having a lot of quality control issues.

I've really just been waiting for portions of an order made in the SUMMER sale The scratched discs were replaced...then came Lost Highway...also scratched. I sent it back before I left for a two week trip to Mexico thinking I'd have my replacement when I returned. Mailbox empty. Lost Highway is currently on BACK ORDER! Arrrgh!

At any rate, I won't order from them again once I eventually get an unscratched copy of Lost Highway.

Like he’s done for past releases, Spike is selling signed copies of the Malcolm X UHD on his website for $50 (full MSRP) + shipping. https://spikes-joint.myshopify.com/c...ray-set-signed

Feb 2023 titles announced.

Looks like I'll be trying to get rid of my Three Colours blu-ray set. I'll absolutely be upgrading to the 4K, along with Dazed and Confused.

I've had the R&J DVD for years and never watched it. I should get that out sometime.

Three Colours 4K is nice. That masterpiece deserves it.

Wow. I had no idea either. It was actually one that I thought of not long ago wondering if it would ever get a Blu-ray.

As a label, Olive always seemed to fly under the radar. I was surprised recently when I saw how many titles they actually released over the years. Yet only a handful of 'Signature' editions.

Figured they'd start releasing some Kurosawa in 4K in March, but I guess not.
maybe they're working on a new box set
