Also, if no one else has noticed, all of Criterion's October releases have now been pushed into November, according to their site, which means 4 blu-ray releases for November and no October releases.

Criterion revealed on Facebook that the date changes were "due to delays in manufacturing our custom Blu-ray cases."

If you keep refreshing Criterion's home page, you'll see the broken image link for "AK 100: 25 Films By Akira Kurosawa" pop-up under the DVD Coming Soon banner at the bottom of the page.
And for those who haven't yet seen it, both Home Theater Forum and Criterionforum.org have images up for the Kurosawa set, which lists the 25 films and shows the book included.
So, I'm thinking that'll probably be the only other Criterion release for December.

Oh, ok. You mean "only other Criterion release for December", PERIOD... not Blu-ray.
Oh, well. Fun while it lasted.

I would pay anything for that set... if it was on Blu-ray.
But since I already have a fair number of those on DVD, I'll pass.
SO tempting, though...

Yeah, no way I'm buying them on DVD. Great looking set, Criterion, but... lemme know when it goes Blu.

Did Criterion not make very many Third Man discs or something? I have had this on order with Amazon since 8/25 and they still can't get it in stock to ship it to me.

I think there has been speculation about the re-release of the first discs with the newer plastic cases being used. If so, that could be a possible reason why there's a hold-up for "The Third Man" discs. It's possible, I suppose, that the stock of first-run pressings of the "The Third Man" with cardboard packaging has been diminished at Amazon.

Ah, I hope that is what is causing the holdup. I am more than happy to wait if it means getting the new packaging.
