re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I've already got Kes on DVD, so I won't upgrade. Blow Out for sure, and I'll Netflix White Material. Fear and Loathing I've overdosed on, and I'll have to wait and see on Le Cercle Rouge. Saw Sweetie a few years ago, might give it a rental. Nice to save a few $ for once.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Decent month. Excited for White Material, Kes and Blow Out.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Damn fine month. Glad White Material's getting the treatment, and I'm pretty stoked for Kes, Blow Out, and Le Cercle Rouge.

Nice to see that Kes includes Cathy Come Home, in all likelihood 1080i.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I own "Fear & Loathing" on both Blu-ray and Criterion DVD already, but I'll bite on the Criterion Blu-ray I think. I'll probably also buy "Blow Out."
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I assume they'll fix the color problems with Le Cercle Rouge for this release.

Rouge on Blu.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I like the Blow-Out cover, even if it only makes me dream of The Conversation.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I hope this is the start of more Denis and Loach from Criterion.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Great news on Blow Out and Le Cercle Rouge. I've bought FALILV more times than I care to think about. I'm good with my HD DVD and CC 2-disc set.

Fuckin' brilliant releases. Kes, Blow Out and Le Cercle Rouge BDs are must haves!
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Will take all those, but might wait to see how Le Cercle Rouge compares with the SC release that I already have.
Glad I didnt pick up Sweetie on dvd in the last B&N sale. |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
will probably get blow out and maybe fear and loathing
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
When would the next Barnes and Noble sale be if it does happen? I'm guessing around April or May or am I off. Boatloads of titles to pick up.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
^ Agree with the above estimate. Having the two sales in July & Nov. spoils us in the fall, but it makes for a long, hard winter.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Well, if the sale is in July then I will likely grab one or two titles upon release, Kes for sure, and then make my list for July.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Fear and Loathing, Le Cercle Rouge and Blow Out for sure. Maybe Kes after I rent it first.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Anybody hope that Criterion has a few horror upgrades around October? I would love to see Blu-Ray upgrades of these:
The Blob Carnival of Souls Equinox Haxan Kwaidan Man Bites Dog Monsters and Madmen Collection Beauty and the Beast Insomnia The Most Dangerous Game Fiend Without A Face The Honeymoon Killers The Devil and Daniel Webster Naked Lunch The Testament of Dr Mabuse Vampyr White Dog |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Does anyone have a cardboard case for The Third Man that they no longer need? I would be willing to pay a little for shipping and packing

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Just a heads-up, mccarver listed the Chungking Express BD in his OOP thread, & Amazon doesn't have it in stock.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Looks like I will be picking up Chungking ASAP. Hopefully it stays in stock at dvdempire until I get paid.
Im not sure if anyone cares but there is a really cool guy over at blu-ray.com that is making some custom criterion covers for me for some of the Criterion DVDs that never made it to blu-ray via CC but did with other companies. I wanna have a complete Criterion Blu-Ray collection Sorry if the image is too big http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5209/...e82204af_o.jpg |

I'm pretty sure the cardboard version is extra-rare. The disc itself is rare and OOP, and I thought the cardboard version was even rarer.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
^ I would have omitted that 'R' and put in 'unrated' since it's the latter that's only included on the Criterion DVD edition, Robocop seriousily needs a director's approved remastered hidef transfer.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Criterion still has it for $32.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
That's disappointing, but I'm glad I upgraded my dvd to blu this last sale.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
^
also on the robo cc cover they probably wouldnt put "023" on the spine it would probably just be "23". i love how alot of people were saying that chungking wasnt going to go oop... and now it is |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Some on criterion forum think that with Chungking they are going to repress it with new upc code in a plastic case instead of digipack. They say the DVD is not listed as oop. They say the same thing is going on with leopard DVD and the Bd is still available. This is a gamble whether it is oop. And criterion shows at least 250 chungking BD in stock and they usually have real time inventory.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
They did redo Bottle Rocket in a plastic case, which bugs me because I'd much rather have that than the digipak.
