Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

The Ocean's Eleven Facebook page posted this today (and a search here didn't turn anything up):

Ready to win big? The Ocean’s Collection featuring all three movies, new special features, and unique collectibles is available May 13th. Pre-Order now
http://www.wbshop.com/product/ocean'...FBOCEANS111213

I don't care about a deck of cards or a pair of dice, but I never did upgrade these movies to Blu Ray. The first one is pretty much the perfect example of a movie that I always finish out when stumbling upon it on cable.

Still no word on that 4th disc? Hopefully an audio upgrade as well.

Yep, that one almost assuredly only saw Blu-ray due to its popularity in Europe.

Already have on HD DVD and Blu-ray so I think I'm covered. With the price dirt cheap for years will this be much of a draw? I think I paid $10 for the trilogy on BR.

It's about friggin' time.

I gave in and bought the bare-bones DVD of Megalon that was issued after the version with the extras was recalled. Unfortunately, they never issued a bare-bones version of Monsters to make up for the recalled version of that. I'll only re-buy Megalon if the Blu-ray has the extras, but I'll happily buy Monsters even if it's bare-bones. Just seeing it in anamorphic widescreen will be a treat enough for me.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Scrolled back a few pages on this thread and didn't see anything posted about the Spider-man trilogy being re-released on 4/22/2014.

Still waiting on a Spider-Man 3 release with the deleted scenes mentioned in one of the commentaries from previous releases. Cannot, and will not, purchase a title knowing that there are deleted scenes that should be on it. Also, does anyone know if Spider-Man 2 will have both cuts of it on this re-release? My fear is that this is nothing more than a repackaging of the previous release...

This set includes part 3's bonus disc. Spider-man 3 4K is also being released the same day.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Yes, I know about the trilogy being released. I guess I was just hoping for stand alone releases as well, and Spider-Man 3 to finally be released with the deleted scenes. Until it is, I'll just wait, along with purchasing SM2.

I have the first Spider-Man movie on DVD, widescreen special edition, purchased around '04, '05 after the deluxe edition came out...didn't want/ need all of the extras on that one. I always wait until the next pressing/release of a movie, and sometimes until the one after that after doing research on a particular film, and never buy the initial release when it comes out on any movie before purchasing, as there are the inevitable special, collector's, anniversary, etc editions that will follow...I don't so-called "upgrade" or double-dip.

I'll wait until they get Spider-Man 3 right, and if they don't, I'm fine on just having the first Spider-man movie on DVD, as it stands on its own. I would like to get Spider-Man 2 also, but just can't until they get SM3 right, as SM2 has too many loose threads at the end for me to get without 3...just my OCD.

I believe they released a 3-pack of Junior, Kindergarten Cop and Twins with KC in anamorphic widescreen.

I'll be getting both for sure, but Bring It On is number 1 on my guilty pleasure list, so I've over the moon about it being released. It looks very good in HDX, but if you love a film, you gotta have the blu!!

Awesome news about Kindergarten Cop!! I'm a Schwarzenegger fanboy and that's definitely one of my favorite films he's done. Instant pre-order.

Holy shit indeed. For a release that was barely lucky to get a DVD-R release, seeing this today listed on Blu-ray was amazing.

No date yet, but Kino Lorber is bringing Breakheart Pass and Mr. Majestyk to BD later this year.
