It will. Specs on the 1923 version, from Blu-ray.com --

* 1923 feature in high definition
* Commentary by Katherine Orrison
* Hand-tinted footage of the Exodus and parting of the Red Sea sequence (from 1923 feature)
* Photo Gallery—1923
* The Ten Commandments: Making Miracles—75-minute documentary

I'm tempted to get this for nostaglia's sake but I never watched the SE DVD I got several years ago.

I never did either. I bought it and tucked it away on a shelf never to be seen again.

I have the 2-disc set from many years ago, and for some reason, Amazon is willing to buy it from me for $7.75 in store credit and pay for me to mail it to them. Easy upgrade!

This is the version I had:

Universal France did an interview and mentioned that Scarface, Jurassic Park Trilogy, more Hitchcock are on the way in 2011. Likely means the US will get these same titles.

I wonder if more Hitchcock just means the previously mentioned The Birds, or if we'll also see Rear Window and/or Vertigo this year.

also mentioned:

The studio will also release some westerns on Blu-ray, including Winchester 73, Shenandoah and High Plains Drifter (apparently one of two movies starring Clint Eastwood that the studio plans to release this year).

Per The Digital Bits:

"While we're talking Rumor Mill-worthy developments, our sources are also telling us that 20th Century Fox and MGM are preparing new Blu-ray versions of Platoon and Midnight Cowboy. Platoon is currently slated for release in the U.K. on 5/16, with Midnight Cowboy due on 5/2. Expect U.S. street dates to be announced soon for a similar release timeframe."

Awesome news!

Nice news on Winchester 73. Hopefully more Mann will be on the way.

Did Firebase Gloria even come out on DVD?

Just saw The Ten Commandments pics on highdefdigest..... what are the chances of getting a release with all the bonus feature of the gift set, without all the fluff (stone tablets, bloated 'gift' packaging)?

I want all the discs, but not all the bullshit.

^ I'd be willing to bet Target or Wal-Mart will get a BD sans bullshit.

By the look of it, it only includes the one cut, which is unfortunate. No word on special features.

Awesome news!

I though Platoon had already been released. Midnight Cowboy is welcomed but these are "wait till their under $10" titles.

Oh, nice. Are those all the special features available for this film? I've actually never seen it, but looking forward to checking it out for the first time on Blu-ray. If it indeed does not include the Theatrical Cut, then maybe I'll have to import the UK Theatrical version, if people feel that it's worth it. (Is it worth it?)

If I were you (or, if I could get in a time machine and advise my younger self), I'd not even bother with any of it. The movie, for me, was a monumental disappointment. Unless you're excited by the idea of an autobiographical narrative that rings so false you'd never guess the author/filmmaker actually lived it or the minor miracle that is a Kate Hudson role/performance that doesn't outright suck, there's nothing there for me to recommend with either cut.

I'm not interested in this title, but at least it's going to be sold by someone. I'd rather see Best Buy sell a title vs NO ONE selling it.

Didn't see this posted.... The Digital Bits is saying that BB will also get The Cove, Still Waiting... and Rules of Attraction as exclusives on 2/1.

I'd bite on Rules for $10.

They haven't been given universal street dates, but it's generally a couple months.

Pretty much a bare-bones affair though, identical to the DVD - vintage featurette and trailer, plus a new 32-page booklet.
