Looks like this will be slim on the extras. I might get this if its sub $10 but I'm in no rush.

I was just looking at my UK SE and thinking this needs a BD upgrade in PQ. Hopefully, they do the right thing and port over the documentary and commentary or do a new one with Romero, Savini & King.

Is the UK DVD a Warner release? If not, the extras may be tied to that studio (of course you can still keep your DVD as its unlikely Warner will re-do them in HD).

If that's the case Warner would likely have to license those extras from Universal and judging by the way Warner has treated their lesser catalog titles on Blu-ray I doubt that would happen. This release just seems like budget catalog fodder.

Re: Creepshow: 9/8/09

Maybe they can license the interview which ran on the A&E network back in 1982 for 30 minutes, a roundtable discussion with King, Romero, Savini and some droll host. It was like a Masterpiece Theater discussion about blood & guts. Good stuff.

Despite the stupid lack of extras, the transfer was really, really, good.

Pisses me of to find out they get a nice set of extras over in the UK and we get shit. I blame Canada.

Watched this last night and the transfer and sound were really good. I remember the movie being better though. Few dull stories (the first two). Overall a nice release from Warner.

Actually, I really like Canada. They have a diverse population of nice people and Rush is from there.

Re: Creepshow: 9/8/09

Just finished watching this and while I love the film, I would have liked a 5/7.1 mix. The visuals were great but the audio could have been punched up and spread around.

The 2.0 was fine for me. The 5.1 would probably be remixed anyway.

Re: Creepshow: 9/8/09

Just picked this up for 12.99 at Bestbuy along with Freddy vs jason(which they pricematched the 10.00 walmart price for me after calling the baldwin hills store),The New World extended cut also for 12.99 , The Postman for 12.99 , and Catwoman for 12.99 the funny thing about catwoman though is the none of the blurays for Catwoman have the title on the side bar its just blank(did they want to save the embarasement of people actually seeing Catwoman Title when you have friends over and want to show off your library lol I mean there are others out there likely who have bought this just because they collect any <even remotely> related to the batman universe lol)

but Back to the movie the thread is about You simply cant pass up creepshow for only 12.99

I'm was happy with audio/transfer, but extras...c'mon, how hard is it to get one little ol' commentary?

In an interview on Deadpit.com, the producer of the UK special edition Michael Felsher said he contacted Warner and offered them the extras but they weren't interested.

Well that really sucks. Especially if they could have gotten them for free or on the cheap. I would have paid some extra dollars for some special features.

If you're region-free, the R2 SE is £8.38 ($13.88) from Amazon.

"weren't interested" Warner US does some really stupid things once in awhile - this is one of them.

the import edition is great by the way.

Once in awhile? Considering Warner Brothers, that's an understatement!

I'll stick with the R2 DVD. The special features rock. I can live with upscaling.
