Let's hope Universal goes back and gives this title a worthy transfer because the HD DVD was below average. I hesitated paying $5 for this HD DVD knowing how it looked, but $20? Yikes.

Re: twelve monkeys july 28th
I have this on HD DVD and still haven't watched it. I'll need to soon.
If I love the film (as I expect) -- it was a blind buy -- then I will gladly pick up the Blu-ray if it has a big improvement in PQ/AQ. I know the HD DVD is supposed to be a weak release so let's hope this time they do it right!

for the ones that own this, does it include Japanese subtitles? If it doesn't appear, if the menus are set to Japanese, does it pop up? thanks for checking, in advance.

The audio may be somewhat improved, but I'll stick to the HD DVD. I finally watched and loved the film - saw it earlier this summer. Amazing movie, and I'm content with having spent $5 on the HD DVD.
