Star Trek BD Sets - opinions?

Hello

I've always been a fan of the Star trek films even despite some with a few flaws. I was in BB the other day and they had a certain BD set (New Generations) at $50 (normal $70.00) that included four films and a bonus disc "Evolutions". The set actually to me has some pretty decent movies, Generations, First Contact, Insrrection, and Nemesis. At about $12.50 per disc that doesn't sound bad but I'm wondering about the overall transfer and sound quality.

I haven't seen any of the films in BD period either from the original cast or the "New Generations". I already 'Wrath of Khan" and the first film on normal DVD. Just like to hear what's the take and impression on the discs. Thanks.

If you stroll through the "Last BD/HD you watched thread", you'll find a smattering of very cursory reviews on most if not all of the first box set and two or three of the current release. I have them both and am seriously bowled over by the quality presentations these sets boast. However, there are some other serious A/V philes who will disagree on the quality of the first set.

There's an existing two-page thread right here on the front page of the HD forum discussing this release. I would suspect you'll find the information you need there.
