Of course that will mark the 4th purchase of Jurassic Park; VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD. At least I didn't start with a beta.

Jurassic Park is a must buy for this household, I'll plan to take a pass on A.I., I didn't enjoy that one at all.

I thought they were saving Jurassic Park for a potential upcoming sequel, but that doesn't look to be getting off the ground.
BTW, I think Paramount would distribute A.I. and Minority Report in the US, as they were Dreamworks releases.

Jurassic Park is a must. The other two I can live with on DVD. I really enjoyed A.I. also, but don't feel the need to revisit it all that often. Same with Minority Report.

I think DreamWorks is back to distributing its own stuff now, isn't it? I thought Paramount and DreamWorks split apart sometime recently.

I always thought DreamWorks had to get a larger studio to actually distribute their product. It used to be Universal when they got started and then it was Paramount. Disney will start releasing DreamWorks theatrical films in 2010, so I am wondering if Paramount will distribute everything (theatrical/home video) throughout this year.

I won't stand for any "Always" bashing.
"Always" is my favorite film of all time. Of course where I was and who I was with when I saw it may have something to do with it, but be that as it may..."Always" is the shizznit.

A.I. and Minority Report aren't even close to the top of my list of Spielberg films I want on BD, although A.I. does look like shit on SD so I'm sure a BD would be a major improvement.
Jurassic Park, however, is near the top of that list. I hope we get to see it soon.

I think the community is generally more accepting of grain now, but there are still going to be those who don't like it and will complain about it.

I too love A.I. It's a better film than people give it credit. I'd also be up for Minority Report, and Jurassic Park. But what I really want is Schindler's List.

Or maybe that was a subtle hint that Spielberg is planning to make that into an HBO series a'la Band of Brothers (he didn't produce Rome so I didn't use that one as an example)!
Just kidding.
Would be a nice idea, though.

JP would be a definite buy for me. I really really dug Minority Report, but i'm not sure i'd upgrade unless the price was right.

Aside from the dumb ending, Minority Report is easily the best film Spielberg has done since Jurassic Park. I can't wait to see and hear it on Blu-ray.

Never picked up Minority Report even though I enjoyed it very much, it enjoyed a pretty active cable replay history after its release. I'll probably get it once it's on sale at some point. I actually love AI, but don't know about upgrading it. Still haven't shown it to my wife, so I'll have to see how much she likes it when we get down to it, that'll determine whether I go for it or not. I'd like to see Catch Me If You Can on blu, that's a great non spectacle Spielberg romp! As most, I'm very eagerly anticipating E.T. although the closer to 2010 we get, the more likely I'm expecting to wait until 2012 for it.. bummer, but at least that gives them time to do it right. Close Encounters gives me hope that we'll definitely see both cuts (maybe a new one too! I actually like the 2002 edition aside from the edits made to the final chase-my main qualms with that have less to do with the guns and more to do with how it screws up the edit's sync with Williams' score) on the disc. Deleted scenes and isolated score please?

Hear muther fuckin' hear.
It was awesome to finally see after 20 years actual moving footage of some of the deleted scenes from ET only to have them foul it up by having that footage in a documentary, with voice-over. Aggh!
I am in for all of Spielberg's films. Anyone that downplays his importance in cinema history is someone trying really hard to be a film snob. I find in utterly impossible to believe that there is not at least one film in his catalog that everyone did not fall in love with at some point in their childhood.
Jaws on BD? Whatever the cost.

I have reservations about how AI will look on blu-ray... it's quite a soft-looking movie to begin with. I'm sure a blu-ray transfer will be faithful to that, but I can hear the bitching already.
