Re: Why would I want digital copy?
Yeah, digital copies are meant to be enjoyed by the consumer on their portable traveling device, whatever it may be. They can't do that if they put the digital copy on a Blu-ray, as the penetration point in the market for people with Blu-ray drives is pretty minimal thus far. They come on a separate disc, as has been mentioned.

Now that I've stopped lauging. This is the case for me and many of the other few million out there (many more times than those who actually take time to cruise or post in DVD boards such as this) who have portable MP3 devices (this iPod thing and something called the Zune are two examples).

Re: Why would I want digital copy?
True story:
Stuck at Urgent Care waiting to be told I have a sprained ankle.
Its not a priority so I have to wait at least 30 minutes.
Two and half hours later, I am so glad my iPod Touch has digital copies. Time went by a lot faster with the movies than with just my music.
But I'm still not going to see a doctor just yet. Just the basic vitals first.
30 minutes later. I see the doctor and in five minutes I'm off to X-rays.
15 minutes later. I am in the waiting room again.
Now I'm finally done. I just watched three movies while waiting to be told to rest, elevate, and medicate.

but as a Zune owner I'd love to hear about the millions who are easily transfering these copies to a device that doesn't allow general support of them

Re: Why would I want digital copy?
Never really used it. I guess if I knew I was going to be sitting somewhere for several hours it would come in handy...but my 8GB iPhone would only be able to hold 2 movies max with my current music supply. But its a way for studios to keep Blu-ray pricing at a premium since they are giving you all these 'added' features. I'd rather dump the DC and/or DVD and have the MSRP be lower.

Re: Why would I want digital copy?
My problem is that they don't use space properly. If digital copy discs contained two versions of the movie (1 for your computer, and a version that could be accessed via standard DVD player) instead of being wastefully used on just a digital copy, I would love them, because many of my friends don't have Blu-Ray players, so if I want to watch that movie with them, I'm out of luck. It doesn't have to include the DVD bonus features, just be usable as both a digital copy and a standard DVD, and it'd be great.
Otherwise, I'm not against them, I just have no use for them, as I don't own an iPod, and if I had a laptop I'd probably have a DVD or Blu-Ray drive on it and just watch my many, already-purchased DVD/BDs.

I've got Blu-ray at home, DVD in the van and my son has and ipod. I'm really liking how many of the latest Disney releases have BD + DVD + DC. Awesome. I hope more studios follow. As long as the price is right of course.

Re: Why would I want digital copy?
I figured all day & date titles would include a DC, but it's not the case for Quantum of Solace and several other new titles. Has Paramount ever provided a DC?
Also, WB seems to have it in place to make these for a limited time. Body of Lies first came out with the "Digital Copy Special Edition" slipcover. I just received mine from CH over the weekend with no slipcover, and no DC. I think they are going to do this from now on going forward. Once the slipcover is stopped being used, they'll remove the DC as well.
And, the DCs all have expiration dates too.

Watching movies on my iPod Touch spares me from having to look at all the scary people on the subway during my daily commute.

Without A Paddle 2 and South Park S12. Of course, they are codes you enter in (no disc) and are only WMV, so no iPod love.
