I couldn't find an existing individual thread about this to post this in, but DVDBeaver added the French BD to their comparison and they're confident the American BD will be identical.

Is it just me or is the picture quality kind of disappointing? Is it because of how it was shot? When you compare the screen shots from this to what you can see for the Fistful of Dollars Import there is a big jump in clarity for the different films. I hope the U.S. release of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is better but I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.

Now I'm not sure if I should pick this up or not. If Columbia House does another B1G1 I may give it a go, but otherwise this is something I'm going to have to pass on. I already have the two-disc DVD edition.

I'm excited because I like the movie so much, but having looked at DVDBeaver's caps from A Fistful of Dollars, those definitely look phenomenal. Let's hope MGM uses the same master as the Italian BD.
