Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Jeez, what a nightmare for me. I sent in two orders, one with Planet Earth AND Casablanca and the second order has Matrix UC, just my luck...

I got my first order in on the very first day of this promotion, been waiting while a lot of people are reporting getting theirs. I'm getting antsy...

I just put mine in a large, white, 9x12 catalog envelope to keep from having to bend the artwork.

I mailed mine out in a similiar fashion (although it was a photo mailer).

Just curious... why? These all are going into the garbage so why send them in pristine shape?

I'm still waiting to be charged for Casablanca....anyone get an update with that in their order yet?

It puzzles me too, that people are sending the covers in laid out flat in an oversized envelope. I folded mine in half and sent them in a 'DVD sized' envelope.

Because that was the only envelope I had that would fit them.

What's the big deal?

Not a big deal at all, no need to be hyper-defensive. KK725 (who I asked, not you specifically) mentioned that he put them in an envelope so that he didn't have to bend them. It would be like washing each piece of trash before you put in in the can. It is wasted effort because they are not handled with any care when they get to their destination.

I was curious about this extra effort thinking that I missed that they will somehow return the art to the owner once it is processed.

well, it turns out I couldn't find my HD DVD copy of Assassination of Jesse James after already placing my order. So, I sent the summary of my order along with the 24 covers I did have, with a note saying "Lost this cover. Please remove from list..."

We'll see what happens...

I had accidentally added a title I didn't have and when I called the customer service, they said they charge based on the covers you give so you should be good.

Has anyone received their order yet that included Casablanca?

A lot of people have received Casablanca. I've yet to see someone get Planet Earth.

FUKC!!!!! They also pulled The Matrix Digibook... They might have pulled more. It seems like they have a lot less titles than they had before...

Now I want to cry. It was bad enough that they jacked up prices, then they pulled Planet Earth, and now they pull these two. And I just friggin ordered Casablanca HD-DVD last Friday when inetvideo started free shipping again... I am highly disappointed in Warner. Now I don't know if I should wait, hoping they put stuff back after they have caught up on their backlog, or if they will never return...

Everyone that jumped on this right away, I bow to you. You are all geniuses. I fall under the "you snooze, you lose" category...

For those waiting on their order, according to the rep I spoke with earlier, aside from Casablanca, you can also add The Searchers, Superman Returns and the Harry Potter giftset to those that are backordered.

LOL... paranoid, I guess. One of WB's requirements for sending the artwork in was the it be "in good condition". Bending probably would have been no biggie, and it looks like others did so and have received all their BDs, but for all the trouble we're going to, and because I wasn't sure, it seemed silly to disqualify my HD covers from the deal because they'd been bent. :p

Still backordered as of yesterday. I sent an e-mail the other day.

they told me they thought planet earth in the next few days, but who knows, out of 23 thats the only thing holding up my stupid order.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I am fearful of a potential problem... What if they sit on the orders with one, or more, items on back order before fulfilling ANY of the order?

So, you have 20 items waiting to be fulfilled, but Planet Earth is on back order so your order sits and waits. Eventually, finally Planet Earth is back in stock, but wait... now Casablanca is on back order, so your order continues to sit and wait, now not because of Planet Earth but because of Casablanca? Now, Casablanca comes back in stock, but now Matrix is on back order?

See where I'm going with this? Those with big orders might have to wait until EVERY item in their order is in stock at the same time before their order gets processed.

I've emailed and now called and was told that absolutely NO orders were being fulfilled partially, EVERY order had to be 100% complete before it was processed. Yet, I have heard more than once that someone has had part of their order shipped, while continuing to wait for out of stock items to be fulfilled later. What gives with that? Something isn't right somewhere.

Luck all...

Just my luck, I have Casablanca, Planet Earth and Harry Potter, Batman Begins, all titles that have been posted as being out of stock, in my order. I might not ever see fulfillment of my order.

Sirgey 05-20-09 08:00 AM

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

i'm guessing they are either deducting the numbers from the stock available or pre-pulling the order as I know I have some in my order that are now listed as back ordered (superman, harry potter) or no longer available and the guy I talked to on the phone said my order was ready to go as soon as planet earth comes in.

Yes - I got the Ultimate Matrix in one, and so one corner received a whopping ding. Bubblewrap envelopes are NOT good to mail box sets in!

Got my package on Mon. Matrix: UE and HP5. No visible damage. Score!

I would agree with you, but because Casablanca and Planet Earth are no longer available to order, once they fill the backorder they shouldn't go out of stock again (assuming they ordered enough to fill all of their backorders)
