Fox/MGM Catalog Titles in June and July 2009

From Blu-ray.com -
In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM Home Entertainment have revealed that they will bring 8 catalog titles - 'Dark Blue', 'The Graduate', 'Navy Seals', 'Out of Time', 'Road House', 'Rollerball', 'To Live and Die in L.A.', and 'Walking Tall' - to Blu-ray on June 2nd. They will bring two additional catalog releases - 'The Towering Inferno' and 'M*A*S*H' out on July 14th. Technical specs have not been announced at this time, but you can expect to see a 1080p video presentation along with a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Extras have not been announced at this time for any of the titles.

Whoops. This should probably be a thread for all of those Fox/MGM catalog titles, so I asked a mod to change it.

For every "Graduate" you get 7 other "Navy Seals" Why are the studios dumping shit out on Blu-ray?

Sad thing is people buy shit. Do we really need a dozen Steven Segal films on Blu-ray? Hell no...but apparently people are buying that crap.

I'm down with "The Graduate"...as long as they carry over all of the bonus features from the special edition DVD, of course....

I love The Graduate.

The main annoyance about getting Navy Seals and its ilk is that they have better movies that would appeal to the EXACT SAME AUDIENCE. Why not Red Dawn instead?

Lame. Blu-ray.com is reporting that To Live & Die in L.A. won't have ANY bonus material. Sigh. Now I'll pass on it.

This is what I still see at Blu-ray.com:

Extras have not been announced at this time for any of the titles.

This is what I still see at Blu-ray.com:

'To Live and Die in L.A.' and 'The Siege' will have no extra features.

Actually, I got press release that lists the features on certain titles (including To Live and Die in LA) and there are no extras with it (at least none were listed, just the technical info).

Ya know, when I visited RST Video in NJ a few years ago, they didn't even have "Navy Seals". They probably can't keep that title in stock.

Sorry to go off topic, but had to do it.

Actually, maybe you SHOULD get To Live and Die in L.A. If it's barebones, perhaps that means Friedkin didn't get a chance to wreck it yet and they're holding the features back for a "remastered" version later on down the line. That'd be worth it...

Sadly it looks like it might be an old MPEG2 release of it and The Siege. Was hoping MGM got their crap together I heard The Graduate is a MPEG4 and a 2 discer...so hopefully that turns out to be correct.

If Friedkin leaves his paintbrush home, then I'll grab a copy.

Re: Fox/MGM Catalog Titles in June and July 2009

I have the Japanese version of "To Live and Die in LA" and they really only have the trailer on it.
But the sound and picture are amazing. In fact i watched it again a few weeks ago and I still love that film. Just bought the soundtrack.

It's Wang Chungtastic!
