"Cold Mountain" Canadian release

For those who are interested, "Cold Mountain" was recently released on Blu-Ray in Canada and I finally got my copy today. I just finished watching it and the picture quality is stunning. If you're interested, the cheapest place to get it is from Inetvideo.com. It's only $17.98 plus $2.95 shipping. A little cheaper than www.amazon.ca I love this movie, so I couldn't wait for a U.S. release. Funny side note, the cover says "Nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Cinematography". Huh!?? No mention of Jude Law getting a Best Actor nomination or Renee Zellweger winning for Best Supporting Actress. Very strange.

Yeah, other than the recent Seven butchering, I'm pretty happy with my Alliance's Canadian BD's (Freddy Vs. Jason, Nightmare on Elm St, From Dusk Till Dawn). Great PQ and AQ. Of course if you're looking for fancy menus or extras you'll have to wait.

What's wrong with the Canadian "Seven" BD? I was just about to buy it.

It's 1.85:1 (or thereabouts) instead of 2.35:1. There's more information on the top and bottom than Fincher intended.

How is the picture quality? How would you rate it from 1-10? 10 being best.

I haven't seen it. I just heard about it.

Several things wrong though. It's 1080i instead of 1080p as well as being the wrong AR. Here's DVD Beaver's review:

Thanks. I've been looking for a review on that site. I couldn't find it there on my own. And I'm glad I didn't purchase this. I'll wait for a U.S. release.
