God, I hope it's not in 3D.

Apparently they want to mix CGI and actual humans like Where The Wild Things. Could work. I just hope they get the tone right.

Ugh, I HATE 3D, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was.

I bought this in the Amazon sales last weeks. The packaging isn't as bad as I thought it would be. So far I've watched the first movie which looks fantastic on BLU. Picture detail is clear and sharp with a large layer of film grain over the top. People complaining about this release just want soemthing that looks digital and clean and not something that looks like a movie shot on film.

I feel the picture quality is incredibly bad. I didn't see anything different from the DVD release. I've seen movies way older than these films that look way better. For God's sake, Gone with the Wind (a film 70+ years old) looked better than these films!

The first two films (particularly the first) were shot on very cheap film stock. You gotta recall that before Raymond Chow agreed to produce the first movie, no one wanted to touch the property. Looking at screenshots of the first film, it definitely looks the best it has since it was in theaters.

I got them the last time the Blu set was on sale. I think that was 3 months ago.

How much was it last week - I've been wanting this forever but can't justify the high price this goes for - I can't believe we haven't had stand alone releases of the first two flicks or a scaled down release with all the films.

I know Amazon has it for $31.99 (as we speak), but it's been as low as $27.99 within the past few months.

Best Buy has it currently at $29.99 which comes out to $7.50 a disc.

Yeah, I remember Meijer having it for a similar price last year too... that Amazon never matched.

I'm still waiting to hit 3500 pts on WB Insiders Club so I can grab this set for free.
