Maybe it's the thought that you don't need multiple discs because of BD's storage capacity? Remember back when we were envisioning complete TV seasons on a single disc?

What's with that last cover? I don't remember Archangel ever wearing a X-Men uniform.

I'm slightly disappointed by these covers. Somehow they don't seem "classy" enough.

Psst, I think they're trying to tell us that Wolverine is an important character in these films (or that he has a new movie coming out) ... especially with the "Wolverine, back to the camera, show me your ass" shot on the trilogy boxset.

It was like that on a lot of posters and promotional artwork too.

Is Professor X standing up in the third cover?

All these covers remind me of the Stillwater t-shirt from Almost Famous. Still buying them.

Who ever had that thought? As far as I know, the BDA has never promoted Blu-ray as eliminating multi-disc sets. The additional capacity of Blu-ray is primarily to provide about the same amount of audio-visual content in hi-definition as DVDs do in standard definition.

I just love how the first two pictures show "A Bryan Singer Film", but the third has NO mention of Brett Ratner.....guess the studio was down on him too

Exactly. Yes, you could definitely fit a whole season of say, Buffy in SD on one Blu-ray instead of the six DVD's, but that defeats the whole purpose of HD.

I'm not a fan of the X1, X2, and X3 specifiers on the front covers. I think that would have worked much better on the spines.

For those of you who have a Papa John's Pizza nearby, they are giving coupons for $10.00 off the purchase of the X-MEN Trilogy on Blu-Ray and $5.00 off the X-Men Trilogy on DVD. I ordered pizza from there this evening, and was happy to see this coupon!

With many times the amount of audio and video data required for hidef, which would easily take up the additional Blu-ray disc space, I never envisioned the disc arrangements of Blu-ray to be much different to DVD. It surprises me when I hear that some people did.

Re: X-Men Trilogy (9 Disc Set) --------> April, 21st 2009

With these being 3 disc versions, that means they will be in a silm case with a double-sided flip tray. Unfortunately, the holders for the tray are very, very prone to breaking. I've encountered these a few times before. It's the same case TDK came in. So be prepared for broken cases. And no one offers a 3 disc replacement right now.

Re: X-Men Trilogy (9 Disc Set) --------> April, 21st 2009

^That is kind of shitty, but I've had a few standard sized 3 disc cases break and just bought a double disc replacement case - because after the digital copy is redeemed, that disc is useless anyway, so I don't keep it in the case.

It might be OK, I haven't heard any complaints about Marley and Me, and it's in that kind of case. Maybe a lot of people didn't buy it though.

It's a shame they don't spring for the cases like Wall*E and Pinocchio used.

I'm in for the box set.
