I picked this up at MovieStop, and their price was $49.99. Papa Johns coupon worked fine, and movie cash inside. I had some trade ins also that brought it down some more. Score!

What's Target selling the trilogy for?

I did not see it at my Target, but the individual ones were $24.99.

^ as I recall Target really didn't advertise this release that well. 'Sin City' on the otherhand is 2 dollars less than the Best Buy price FWIW.

I opened mine up, and sorry to say it does not include the ticket offer in it.

I was so excited to get the set that i didn't even pay attention to the stickers (or lack of) on the front. When i opened it up, i was like "Where is the Movie Money??"

Also the audio options for "X3" have quoted 5.1 DTS, but in fact, the disc is in 6.1 DTS, just like the original DVD release! This was a huge concern of mine since the 6.1 DTS on the original DVD release may be the best audio presentation I have ever heard.

Also, when i used the Movie Money for "Quantum of Solace" at my local AMC theater, they told me they do not accept this type of transaction, but they made an exception for me. The next time i saw a movie at AMC, they had a sign saying they do not accept any type of Movie Money or any other special offer from a DVD / Blu-ray purchase.

^ I think it's kind of stupid that AMC doesn't participate in these offers, it just makes me wander over to Regal or National Amusements anyway where either of the two make some money off of me when I purchase some popcorn.

AMC not accepting movie money makes no sense at all. They get reimbursed by the studio.

Just got back from the Cary store to pick up my in-store copies of X-Men and X2. Turns out both copies they gave me didn't have the movie cash sticker...they told me to go grab two that did have the sticker...only problem...they didn't have any at all. They had a few X3 with stickers but no part 1 or 2. They said they only got 10 of each movie and only half had the stickers. Lame. I had to drive to the Crabtree Valley Best Best and was able to get both with the stickers.

Re: X-Men Trilogy (9 Disc Set) --------> April, 21st 2009

from all accounts I have read I am giving FOX a huge thumbs down on their execution on this release

it is sad that one cannot order online or go to the store and have confidence in knowing what they are getting

the fact that some Trilogy sets have movie cash on them and some don't is bad enough
quoted specifically from the TCFHE press release
In a studio first, the discs include a BD Live feature that will allow fans to purchase advance tickets and gain access to exciting never-before-scene footage to the highly anticipated upcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuting in theatres May 1st. Boasting superior picture and sound quality for the ultimate viewing experience, the X-Men Trilogy set is loaded with deleted and extended scenes, cast and crew commentary, making-of featurettes and much more. The set also includes movie cash towards the new theatrical release as well as the studio’s upcoming blockbusters Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Night at the Museum: Escape from the Smithsonian.
even worse that some stand alone versions have movie cash stickers at BB for a promotion and some don't ... I can completely understand some of the other non new release catalog titles in the promotion being old copies without movie cash on them but it is unthinkable that all the X-Men movies which were new releases did not ship with it on package

content aside FOX gets major thumbs down for the roll out of this release
maybe they should contact the FBI to see where all the promised movie cash went

BestBuy.com has Sin City for 24.99 (same as Amazon's price), so you can either order it online and do an in-store pickup, or bring in a print-out of their lesser price from their website and get it for $2 less than Target....

I second this suggestion if you have a location near you (since they are not yet a nationwide chain)......I also got the trilogy box set w/movie cash sticker there for only $39.99 (after coupon) + sales tax out the door!

I would if I could. I'm just going to suck it up and get the trilogy at Best Buy. I was planning to go see Wolverine anyway, movie money or not. Plus it should put me over the 500 RZ points mark.

I'm willing to bet 99% of the individual releases and sets shipped out with the movie money attached, but since the codes are on the removable sticker in front, outside the shrinkwrap, well, I'm sure some people just went ahead and removed them.

I'm going to pick up my 2/$35 X1/X2 discs in a bit. If they don't have Movie Money I'm not leaving the store until they get it to me in some way. It's part of the ad, part of what I paid for.

Re: X-Men Trilogy (9 Disc Set) --------> April, 21st 2009

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Movie Money works the same in Canada as in the US. IIRC, the Movie Money here is in the form of some paper/slip that is actually inside the case, not printed on the reverse of the front sticker. Anyone know the reason for this different approach in doing things? Why not just use the inside-the-case method in the US as well?

I haven't read the details of the Movie Money offer on the front sticker of my copy, so I apologize in advance if I'm talking outta my arse

If its that easily removable, then I should have just transferred one from an individual movie to the trilogy I had in my hand. I didn't even bother trying to peel one to see if they come off easily.

yes, that IS usually the case, so maybe I'm just overreacting to the news that some folk seem to think they are getting ripped off, when in fact the movie cash is INSIDE the disc. Cover sticker or not.

Re: X-Men Trilogy (9 Disc Set) --------> April, 21st 2009

there are different form and different companies that administer "movie cash" (using this as a general term)

FOX has chosen e-movie cash which is in the form of a code on the back of a sticker on the shrinkwrap not a hard copy inside the case

^ I'm not talking about the Trilogy but the individual releases. I'd just rather buy 1 and 2.

The individual releases also use the sticker and the code.

Bestbuy.com has changed the individual prices to $19.99. So...if you DON'T have a Papa Johns coupon, you can get 2 for $35, then the other for $20.

That's where I got 2 and 3 on Sunday, both with stickers. I was going to stop by after work and get the first one at the Cary store, but I'll go to Crabtree later this week.
