My XA1 is hooked up because in case of a burglary I can use it as either a shield or as a weapon - if I can manage to lift it up of course.

Seeing all of these people who have went through two or three players, I have one question: Why on earth have you not tried the PS3? I could understand if there were some drawbacks, but the only reason I've ever heard is that "I don't want a gaming machine as my primary player."
But, when that machine is the BEST, future proof player available, and has been since day one, why not?
Oh, and I only have one...the PS3.

I've had a Magnavox NB500MG9 since June. I like it.
When I get my debts down, I'll invest in a better one.

I bought an LG HD/BD drive on Black Friday for 95 bucks. Now I have a backup HD player and I can play my $8 Die Hard BD (and, presumably, Dark Knight if I get that for Christmas).

The other thing that kills me about it, is that I spent a small fortune on a high-end HDMI-capable AVR, and I'll be damned if I'm going to look at it show "Multi Ch In" for the rest of its days, instead of the sublime beauty of "Dolby TrueHD", or "DTS-HD MSTR".

Panasonic BD30
Sony S300 (sitting in my closet - it was too damn slow for me - worse than the HD-A1)
Samsung BDP1000 (also in my closet, but doesn't work very well)

1- PS3 60gb
Since I just won $1000 in fantasy football and I have a $500 best buy gift card lying around I may hook up the bedroom with a mini system for movies and games. Problem is I have a capable receiver (no HDMI) with analog inputs I could use if I wanted to. But getting a PS3 AND an analog capable Blu-ray player would be overkill.
I really need to finish my theater room in the basement.
