If it's totally bare bones, I'd wait 'til you see it for $10.

This is a property of MGM. If anyone paid for special features, I imagine it would have been MGM. Sony only distributed the dvd.

This appears to be another lazy BD effort from them. Toss this one in the junk pile with the featureless, high priced Amityville Horror and Carrie. At least this one won't have a huge $34.99 sticker on it at BB like other two. I wonder how many copies Best Buy sold at that price.

Lazy indeed.

Even if it is a rights issue, how much could they possibly be charging for the rights to the supplemental materials? I would imagine it would be minimal given the age and relatively low popularity of the feature film.

While it could be a rights issues (as its happened in the past) its more likely that MGM has been sitting on these for 2 years and chose to release them now. Anyone check what trailers play when you put the disc in? Recent titles or ones from 2006/2007? What about the insert (if one is included)?

Don't know about the trailer, but the insert seemed fairly recent - it mentioned Pink Panther 2 I believe. That doesn't mean the disc and art weren't already done though.

Very true.

Ralph at AVS shows these as the trailers:
Three previews – Usual suspects, Walking tall, and Out of time

I know Usual Suspects is old but not sure if the other 2 were released (not my genre of films I care about)

The 2-disc edition was also released by MGM, albeit perhaps during the time period when Sony was distributing their titles. Still, MGM would have paid for the content on the disc.

In any case, even the original single-disc edition had a commentary and alternate ending. There's no excuse for MGM to drop them from the Blu-ray other than laziness.

Does Ronin's cover say "Beyond High Definition" at the bottom? If so, then it's definitely been sitting on the shelf. According to pics at DVD Empire, it has Fox's old style BD cover. Front and back look like their old 2006 releases.

Yep, the Ronin cover has that dumb "Beyond High Definition" banner at the bottom. Basically the same cover art as the SE. Only one trailer, for Ronin is on the disc.

As for the movie...the sound is really great, just as intense as the DTS track on my Region 2 set. Picture looks good, albeit a tad soft in the dark. But no DNR, which I was expecting.

When Amazon Marketplace prices get low, I might pick it up then.
