Was the back of anyone else's blu ray case blurry and un-readable? The front on mine is printed perfectly fine, but the back is very blurry and the smaller text cannot be read.

Why is this so hard to find? Once again the tards @ BB either can't find copies they apparently have in stock or they just plain don't have it. On release day. I hope I can find a copy @ Target on my lunch break. Those cropping issues probably won't be too noticeable to me, but I still don't like knowing about it. Also, it does look washed out compared to the 2007 DVD. WTF, Paramount?

According to a poster on AVS - Paramount used the UK Warner print of the film for this release.

The cropping on this blu ray seems consistant with previous uncut (or Warner Bros., if you prefer) versions of the movie.
This is only my 2nd post, so I can't do links but if you were to perhaps place a www(dot) infront of the following: caps-a-holic.com/vergleich.php?vergleichID=287
...you'd see what I mean.
So I guess the choice here was either the cut Paramount version with the slightly wider framing, the uncut Warner version with the slightly tighter framing or a composite of both.
At least what we've ended up with is uncut and consistant in visual quality.

My BB only had two on release day hidden in the catalog titles not new release, The cropping was fine for me not noticable but I didnt recall any uncut scenes they all seemed the same to me but its been awhile since I watched the movie.
Is there a thread for the added scenes?

Friday the 13th Blu-Ray Boxset
By jasonsfury • February 9, 2009
Bloody-Disgusting reports that they have learned Paramount is planning a Blu-Ray boxset much like the previous boxset. Please read the following:
“This past Tuesday Paramount Home Entertainment released the original Friday the 13th on Blu-ray, while sticking parts 2 and 3 on DVD (again). We learned over the weekend that Paramount is already prepping to release a brand new box set including the first eight Friday the 13th films on Blu-ray. Much like the 2004 DVD release “From Crystal Lake to Manhattan”, the box set will include the first eight films, as Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs Jason were made by New Line Cinema. No word on if they’ll be uncut or not - let us pray.”

Re: Friday the 13th UNRATED: Deluxe Edition 2/3/09
I expected them to follow the release pattern the first time these were on dvd. They would release a few each October and spread them out. But I guess they're not doing that now.
I just bought the first one on Saturday, so I also hope they get separate releases. I wonder what list price we'll get for an 8-movie BD set? $200?

I think they'll wait and release the remake on BD later in the year. Why release the BD in the middle of Summer when everyone will be at the theater? Makes more sense to save it for at least August.

Well, at least I don't need to worry about getting the UK BD releases now. Goddamn Paramount! For a studio that obviously doesn't care enough about this franchise to give it proper releases it sure loves to release the hell out of them.

Didn't somebody talk to some 3-D guy from Part 3 (in the the thread over in the DVD Talk Section) who said that the other films would be out on BD next year?
EDIT: Oh, here we are...
EDIT: Oh, here we are...
I went to the signing for His Name was Jason in Burbank last night. It was a real good time. They had a ton of cast/crew from the series, got to see a few friends. I spoke to the 3-D supervisor for Part 3 for a good 15 min and he confirmed that a Blu-ray edition of the film is indeed coming next year. He said it's going to use DLP 3D home technology which, according to him, looks amazing. He said only DLP and LED 3D-ready sets will be able to utilize the technique, all other sets will be relegated to red/blue for the release. He invited my friend and I to a private screening of Part 3 at his studio using the process, so if I get the chance to see it I'll be sure to report back.
Also spoke to my buddy who's doing the SE's for parts 4-6. He couldn't confirm whether or not there would be a BD release of them, but he did tell me that the bonus features for those 3 will put those from 1-3 to shame. We all know the new bonus features on 1-3 are pretty damn weak, and so does he, so it's looking good that we'll get some great stuff for the next 3.

And since Paramount has released certain titles on Friday (see Madagascar 2) the studio could release the box set on Friday, November 13th.

I doubt we will see a boxset this year. Paramount would probably release each one individually first and then altogether in a big box like they did for DVD. Sure, 5-8 probably wouldn't sell that well by themselves, but fans like me would eat them up. Just tough to swallow a huge pricetag on 8 movies all at once vs. $20 each spread over a year or two.
