Burn After Reading - 12/23/08

**UPDATE** NEW RELEASE DATE IS 12/21.

The Coen Brothers' latest star-studded spectacle Burn After Reading with George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Brad Pitt and John Malkovich will appear on Blu-ray just in time for Christmas on December 23, day-and-date with DVD.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment will give Burn After Reading its usual Blu-ray treatment with a widescreen 1.85:1 1080p transfer and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

Compared to other big November and December releases from Universal like Hellboy II, Wanted and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Burn After Reading is fairly light on supplemental features. We've included what is likely the full and final list below.

-Finding the Burn
-DC Insiders Run Amuck
-Welcome Back George
-BD Live - My Scenes Sharing (Blu-ray exclusive)

Burn After Reading on Blu-ray will retail for $39.98. We'll be back to update this article with high resolution cover art and pre-order information in the near future.

Wish there was more to this release, but I will surely be picking this one up. Really enjoyed it.

There's never much to any Coen Brothers release. We should be thankful for anything that isn't Paul Adelstein saying "berry spoons" or whatever over and over again, or vintage footage of trains.

I'm surprised no one has stated "THIS IS...A CRUCIFIXION!" in response to the meager extras.

As much as I could wait for this to come out, this will be at the top of my Christmas list. Could not stop laughing at this.

Spoiler:
If only there was a featurette on the present for Clooney's wife.

Cover art added to OP. Universal has pushed the release up a couple of days to Sunday, 12/21.

The best is his "I got his numbah!" rap. Fucking died at that.

Also
Spoiler:
that fleeting shot of him with the exercise ball.

Infinitely quotable movie that should grow on repeat viewings:

Spoiler:
"You think that's a Schwinn!"

"I just shot a fucking spook!"

Couldn't resist mentioning those gems.
