Crank 2: Crankier

I know it sounds kind of ridicurous, but I thought it was so cool when the menu displayed the weather and the time for my area.

The Last House on the Left - I saw it in theaters, didn't like it but enjoyed it a bit more on Blu. Nighttime scenes pq suffer, but the day shots are excellent. Audio was great, as I loved the score. Weak extras, though.

John Murphy's score was probably my favorite thing about the film.

Agreed. I actually felt bad that he wrote a great score for such a mediocre flick.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)

First time viewing, and it looked stunningly great.

Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008)

Decent sequel in my opinion. Very good quality.

The Office: Season Five
Watched the deleted scenes on discs 1-3, hilarious!! There are some real golden moments that I wish they'd put in the show.

Confessions of a Shopaholic had to watch something with the wife. Not as bad as the spate of recent rom-coms but nothing terribly original. Good rental

Clear and Present Danger for a bargain title a nice upgrade over the DVD. Very respectable PQ and AQ

True Blood Disc 2. Overall no problems with the show, still hasn't really done anything to hook me after a couple more episodes.

Kagemusha. A great film, and an excellent disc with Good PQ/AQ - not one of my favorite presentations but more than adequate and impressive. This is one I'm going to have to add to my collection sometime! Now all we need is more Kurosawa on Blu-ray.

re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

The International looks and sounds as good as you'd expect a new movie to look and sound. I didn't particularly care for the movie in the theater however I thought I'd give it another chance. Still luke warm on it. Other than the Gugenheim scene too much talky not enough walky.

As an aside. They filmed the actual shootout portion on a soundstage in Europe. The setup before and after was at the real Gugenheim. My nephew was an extra. They hired New York extras that looked like the extras they had in Europe so they didn't have to fly 50 extras to NYC. My son and I were also in NY that day and watched them film the opening scene of the pedestrians walking past the front door (oooh, exciting I know).

Bummer cause I still don't care all that much for the movie.

Almost Famous: 'Untitled' Director's Cut. Absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. This was my first viewing of the Director's Cut. I'm not sure which version I love more but since both are stellar versions of the same incredible film I'll have to say this Blu-ray release is downright essential for fans who don't have the Bootleg Cut DVD release from several years ago. Good PQ/AQ and a movie that will stand the test of time -it will not be forgotten.

I didn't know there was a BD of that movie. Blockbuster doesn't have it available in Blu. Is it an import?

Surveillance (2008)

Great movie. Picture Quality wasn't exactly a stunner but I guess it wasn't suppose to look glossy.

Mortuary (2005)

Beautiful presentation, pretty bad movie.

Dexter: The First Season, Started off really good, a couple episodes slowed it down for me and then BAM it got really awesome, especially the whole last disc. PQ was excellent, lots of awesome scenes.
