March 29: Black or White (2014)

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to; it reminded me of the social issues cinema of the late '70s (such as ...And Justice for All and Kramer vs. Kramer).

A guilty pleasure for me; enjoyably stupid.

Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

April 17: Battle Royale: The Complete Collection (2000-2003)

I finished watching this package of Battle Royale (2000), Battle Royale: Special Edition (2001), and Battle Royale II (2003), plus the disc of bonus features, early this morning. I watched a disc per night, so Battle Royale has taken over my week. I don't know what was in the water in Japan at the turn of the millennium, but there was an amazing run of films from there during the period that runs roughly from 1998 to 2002. Battle Royale is one of my favorites; the sequel...not so much.

Skyfall (2012)

First 4K BD I've watched in full on my new TV.

Loved it!

Agreed! Great villain for that film.

I was able to get the Blu-Ray cheap during one of Warner Archives' 4/$44 sales a while back.

Watched Gods of Egypt this evening. Crtics may have panned this movie but we found it to be immensely entertaining.

Watched Flash Gordon (1980) this evening. A fitting movie to watch as we wind up the Flash Gordon (2007) series.

April 24: Arabian Adventure (1979)

I really wanted to like this rather nondescript Thief of Baghdad variation, but it never really took off and soared. It's okay, and it has a phenomenal cast, but it's just not as much fun as I had hoped that it would be.

Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

Watched Lucy (for the second time), it was just as good as I remembered it the 1st time we watched it. Followed it up with the first disc/episode of Doctor Who: Complete Season Seven: The Leisure Hive (not a very good episode. Not only that, the full screen was VERY apparent, with a FS box in the middle of my WS TV. Why do my other FS series on DVD fer' cryin' out loud appear FULL SCREEN on my WS TV, and these Tom Baker seasons on blu-ray fer' cryin' out loud show as a little FS box in the middle of my screen? WTF is this good for besides nostalgia?
