Young Adult...something about this one that makes me want to see every so often. Great performances, great writing, really like this one.

I had actually never seen the movie before, even though King Kong is one of my all-time favorite movies. This was okay--clearly a much lower-budget than the original, and cranked out quickly after the success of King Kong. It took them 40 minutes before they even got to the island. Once there, the effects were fine, and comparable to the original. Overall, not bad.

"Pete's Dragon" (2016). Based on the trailers, I never thought I'd rent this but I had heard some promising reviews and gave it a shot. A pleasant "Family" film, though it never quite succeeded in choking me up, though I'm a sucker for Animal/Pet stories. I was surprised at how prominent the dragon is in the film, pretty much from the very first scenes -from the trailers I expected it to be used more sparingly.

Blair Witch...what a terrible movie and terrible disappointment from a promising director. So unoriginal.
On the bright side, it kinda reminds me how Resident Evil 7 might look and feel and that had me happy.

Eh, I was curious and generally like Wingard so thought I would give it a shot. The hour long docu will probably be interesting though...

I expected to like this more than I did. It was humorous. I thought it would be hilarious.
Planning on it being an A+, probably would give it a B-

Never understood people who dislike a movie and watch the special features. As if watching the movie wasn't already a waste of my time. If I watch a movie and dislike it, it goes straight to the for trade/for sale pile and I try to get rid of it as soon as possible before it depreciates in value. Just my opinion of course.

sometimes the movie making process, (regardless of film) can be more fascinating than the feature itself.

So was this one filmed Found Footage/shaky Cam style like the original or did they film it in the traditional way? I'm curious to see this but I've pretty much had it with found footage movies.

I also like watching behind the scenes of animation. I find it more interesting than a lot of the movies themselves.

Excellent flick. Very intense. Loved the interviews with the actual participants in the extras

it's all found footage stuff and it was just terrible. i almost wish it was traditional a la Evil Dead remake. at least do something new, this was retread to the Nth degree. A fail for Wingard.

We Are Still Here...holy fuck was this awesome. Hands down best, gripping, shocking horror movie I've seen since The Orphanage not too long ago, but wow with this one. This knocked the creepiness out of the park, but to show you the demons and the carnage out right was totally unexpected. Not that I would have minded the little seen apparition stuff, but this knocks you on the head and shows it all. Just excellent!

That's disappointing. I would have been all-in if it had been filmed traditionally. I just don't have the patience for found footage movies anymore. This "genre" played itself out years ago. IMO, even the good ones (Cloverfield, Chronicle, etc.) are worse for being found footage.

Jason Bourne. This was better than what I expected.
The Secret Life of Pets. Illumination Entertainment couldn't resist pulling a shameless plug with a "Sing" poster on a bus.
Cardboard Boxer. This was better than what I expected lol.
Batman Begins. Don't throw rocks at me but this is better than the Dark Knight and even better watching it while it is raining and overcast outside.

Curse of Chucky...not a bad little reboot to the franchise. Stuck with tried and true horror/slasher tropes, but this character is always fun and this movie was no exception.

The Sixth Sense...just a genre classic. Well acted, performed, directed. Still one of the best twists ever.
