Iron Man . It's been awhile, so I just watched it as a refresher for the sequel next week. If I see it next week...

Jade - Even if Freidkin almost completely rewrote Eszterhas' script, this is still an inferior Basic Instinct clone... but I didn't think it was completely terrible. I kind of like Joe's style of shlocky, erotic thrillers. Plus, Caruso aside, it has a fairly solid cast. PQ wasn't dazzling, but I thought it looked better than most reviews have stated. AQ was average. No extras.
The African Queen - Perfect film, perfect transfer, perfect audio... If you don't own it, buy it. Now.

A Bug's Life - this release is why I love Pixar films on Blu-ray! The first digital to digital film transfer process and the end result is near flawless - as is the mastering. And if there were any flaws, they were not perceivable to my untrained eyes.

Starting to watch Saving Private Ryan Awesome disc. I have to finish the last half of Band Of Brothers and Firefly. Too many things unfinished

100 Feet
Surprisingly enjoyable, minus a couple of unnecessary plot devices and shotty CG work. Atmosphere was great and could have lived on that alone and been pretty successful.

The Lord of the Rings (1978) - Loved it as a kid, but must admit that I'll likely rarely re-watch this, compared to the recent films. Very nice included documentary on Ralph Bakshi. I haven't compared the included DVD to the old DVD release yet, but it appears different.

Nine - Wow, that was even worse than critics made it out to be. The Kate Hudson number made me cringe & almost feel bad for her. Just an awful film, kind of an insult to the films it claims to have influenced it. Amazing audio though.

Halloween II (Zombie Version) What a train wreck! I'm nowhere near prudish but the F-bomb should have had a billing as it was used just about every other line. There are so many things to hate in this movie, it's hard to pick just one but, Michael's grunting and Loomis' greed and vapidness are too far astray from the original to even be imagined much less incorporated within the film. This is easily one of the worst remakes I have seen. I really enjoyed Zombie's re-imagining of the first film but, he really screwed the pooch on the second. PQ was way too dark. So much so that there are times you really cannot tell what is happening on screen. Given the film itself, that may not have been an altogether bad thing! AQ was ok, nothing to write home about.

Nah... It wasn't THAT bad. It was enjoyable fluff wrapped up in an artsy exterior. Plus Penelope Cruz was in it... and was very memorable...

I definitely didn't see it as "fluff" at all. To me fluff is a film that doesn't take itself seriously and has no ambitious intentions. This is a film that is heavily self-indulgent and was made to garner Oscar nods and be the next Chicago.

The Fellowship of the Ring - Maybe this is just my inner dork talking, but this is a near perfect adaptation of the greatest trilogy ever written.
