Mamma Mia! - UK specs, US ???

I saw that over on DVDTimes the specs for the UK version include:

English 5.1 DTS-HD Master AudioFrench, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese DTS 5.1 Surround
English SDH, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese and Chinese (Traditional) subtitles
U-Control: Behind the Hits – Get the full details and behind-the-scenes trivia on the hit ABBA songs and albums, as you watch the musical performances onscreen
U-Control: Picture in Picture – Access interactive cast and crew interviews and behind-the-scenes footage
Deleted Musical Number: ‘Name of the Game’ (HD)
The Making of Mamma Mia! Featuring “Birthing Mamma Mia!”, “The Filmmaking” and “The Cast” (HD)
Anatomy of a Musical Number “Lay All Your Love On Me” (HD)
Becoming a Singer (HD)
A Look Inside Mamma Mia! (HD)
Deleted Scenes
Outtakes
Music Video: Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
Bjorn Ulvaeus Cameo
Commentary with director Phyllida Llloyd

~

I would assume the US version will mirror this, right? I know that at one point one of the planned 'extra's would be an add your own commentary for the US edition.

Check back tomorrow (or maybe later tonight).

But, the UK specs do not always mirror those of the US. The Thing in the UK for example is on a BD50 with all the HD DVD features intact while the American BD release nixes several features.

oh yes, I'm completely aware of that - that's why I'm very curious, and wary, of what the US version will include.

[side comment: just preordered 'The Thing' the other day]

Its a Day and Date...I suspect it will have everything, but who knows with Universal. 3 out of 4 past major releases have dropped features from the DVD (and before someone calls me out, please refer to Baby Mama, Leatherheads & Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

one feature that was rumoured for the US version was a 'add your own commentary track' which is not on the UK version, that seems like pure puff to me.

I must admit, I bought the standard DVD over the bluray for this title.

The Commentary thing is still coming (as far as I know)...don't know how that will work unless you have a PS3 and the webcam thingy. Unless you record your commentary on your computer with webcam and mail it to the BD player...?

If you have a profile 2.0 player (aka BD-Live capable), you can download and watch the three missing bonus features that the Blu-ray is lacking on disc compared to the standard def special edition...

looks like the sing-along and 'behind the hits' are exclusive to the US release.
