I meant the movie itself, and Season 12 is already out on Blu, and I own it :)

Correction: SP S12 CAME OUT on Blu-ray already over two weeks ago...

I'm pretty sure the original poster was talking about the SP movie (Bigger, Longer & Uncut)....

Previous season are coming out as well. Season 11 is likely shooting for October along with the movie (to tie-in with the return of South Park S13 Part II)

All depends on the movie. There are HD masters for some that have yet to see a BD/HD DVD release and there are some that are just upconverts.

A channel like TBS/TNT is often a mess for any HD movies they show with a lot/most that I seem to stumble upon being modified 4:3 movies that are then stretched to fill the 1.78:1 frame and upconverted.

It's always bothered me that TV stations have no ID what the heck a correct aspect ratio is.

^ Showtime is usually good with their ratios. Starz and HBO blow.

Well in HBO's case too many people bitched about 2.35 films because their TV was not being filled.

Glad to see Outlander will get a blu-ray release, liked that one a lot and will be buying it.

But Universal changes its mind so damn often its hard to peg them for anything that not a direct tie-in (Pitch Black/Riddick, Fast and Furious as an example). Random titles are just that - random. But you noticed Bruce Almighty got announced? Another Jim Carrey flick may appear as well.

So then we should "expect" titles like Chasing Amy, Reindeer Games, The Butterfly Effect, and Cold Mountain to get US releases in the nearer rather than the distant future or are some titles more random than others (aside from your already mentioning the Universal issue with changing their minds)?

Thanks again!

Chasing Amy is being planned for this year (according to Smith). The others not too sure...though one of them was supposed to come out last June.

Someone already has it (and Boiler Room) and confirmed its 1080p and DTS MA.

I'm hoping they see Heat as a digibook release. Then again, I thought that would happen with LA Confidential.

Apparently, Best Buy's new BD promo shows Walk the Line coming out this November. That is a definite purchase. The soundtrack should be nice in DTS HD.

I wonder if they're doing a new transfer on it. If they handle it right, that could be one gorgeous BD!

I never got around to getting the Criterion DVD version of Do The Right Thing, even though I LOVE that movie. So this blu-ray is a must own, great news.

Dalton in HD!! Woo-hoo! Will probably get this one without shame. Will easily grab To Live and Die in L.A., MASH, and The Graduate when I get the chance.

Do the Right Thing looks like it has all of the Criterion extras, so I'll probably grab that too.

"The Graduate"!!! Right on. Hopefully it'll get all the extras from the 40th Anniversary SD DVD . . .

Tower.com has Blade listed for June 2nd. What's surprising is they show a list price of $24.39. I hope that becomes the norm for WB catalogs going forward.
