Very cool - we never even had an anamorphic release of this title on DVD. It will be mine.

Nice to see Paramount getting their asses in gear with catalog.

But dammit no more delays for BRAVEHEART!

There was no delay for Braveheart since it was never officially announced.

Not officially, that's right. But it's been rumored more than once more strongly than most rumored titles IIRC.

Not to mention, IMO this should have been out last year on HD DVD the same day as the DVD re-release.

Norton's performance is tits. Might buy it, one of the few Richard Gere movies I can tolerate (Ed completely steals the movie from him).

That's pretty much what jumpstarted Norton's career isn't it?

Zen Peckinpah 12-15-08 07:29 PM

His film debut.

Everyone, please please give "Tell No One" a rent at the very least. It's my second favorite film of 2008. Very close behind "In Bruges". It's one of the best thrillers I've seen in years.

bunkaroo 12-16-08 01:15 PM

Of course - I bought the import version of Tell No One a while ago and haven't watched it yet. Didn't think it would get a theatrical or home video release here.

I guess I need to put this to the top of my list of things to watch.

Agreed. I've got the import. It rocks!

LickTheABCs 12-16-08 01:49 PM

Nice. I wasn't expecting a Blu release for "Tell No One"

Added to the Netflix queue along with In Bruges.

Agree. Me too. I saw it in the theater here in the U.S. a few months back. Just happened to be on Amazon.co.uk that same weekend and saw it on there. Not realizing it was out on DVD over there. And only seven pounds brand new (!) So I bought it. I've burned a copy for all of my friends to watch since they don't have an all regional player like me, and everyone had the same reaction as me. They loved it. So I will most definitely pick up the BD.

And bunkaroo, please post your thoughts on the film here after you watch the DVD. Thanks!

will the South Pacific blu be identical to the special edition DVD with both the theatrical and roadshow version?

Adam Tyner 12-17-08 07:58 PM

I'm not really interested in those myself, but it's still nice to see that much being released in one fell swoop. (I might pick up Final Destination, but I rather would've seen either of the sequels...)

bunkaroo 12-17-08 07:58 PM

Definitely in for American History X and Above The Law.

Probably will pick up a couple of the others on sale at some point.

Gizmo 12-17-08 08:20 PM

Taking Lives? Finally! That snuck out on HD DVD 2 years ago to a handful of people.

I'll gladly pick up Wedding Singer, Final Destination and Taking Lives.

Zen Peckinpah 12-17-08 09:34 PM

TANGO & CASH!!

I almost just reenacted Scanners out of sheer excitement.

Will also grab American History X and maybe Above the Law if the price goes low enough.

Doughboy 12-17-08 09:39 PM

I'll replace my Wedding Singer, Final Destination, and American History X DVDs with the Blu-rays.

Please WB, include lossless audio. Especially for Final Destination.

JimRochester 12-17-08 10:33 PM

Good news when announcements like this are made. I'm in for Wedding Singer and maybe Above the Law

XavierMike 12-18-08 08:25 AM

2010 for me.

Doctorossi 12-18-08 08:42 AM

I'll never understand how anyone who likes 2001, even a little bit, can do anything but loathe 2010.

...but that's just me. :)

Drexl 12-18-08 09:01 AM

Damn, I don't know if I want a single one of those. I might get Final Destination, but I'm not sure.

I am surprised they didn't just hold off on 2010 for another year. I figured that's what they had been waiting for.

ianholm 12-18-08 09:09 AM

Above The Law and Taking Lives for me
