Everyone should give the dvdtalk blu-ray review of The Fall a look. I just watched the disc and its visually jaw-dropping. I loved the film as well, but for just looks alone I think its the most impressive looking live action film I've seen on blu ray.

How the West Was Won
The Fall

The first (and only) multi-title release day for me all year, and there's only one other thing I'm looking to pick up before '09.

Yeah, but only as an import, marked up price plus shipping. Now it's available from US distributors, cost me $8 x/ store credit so I gladly waited for it, rather than pay for the import.

I'm gonna get "Grey's Anatomy" when I can get it for $50. I'm hoping Amazon has a one-day sale like they did for "Lost" or on some Black Friday sale.

Kill Bill x 2 for me this week! I really want a couple of others, but I'm betting Cool Hand Luke and How the West Was Won might be good sale titles in the future. So, I can wait a bit, especially since Pushing Daisies comes out next week.

I'll definitely be netflixing The Fall, though.

Amazon seems to be having stock issues with Jerry Maguire, so I am going to take that as a sign and cancel my order to wait for an inevitable sale.

I would have bought Superman Returns with TrueHD audio, but looks like no one got it. DVD Empire shows a new date of 9/16. CD Universe says "backorder" and Amazon doesn't have a listing. Good job Warners!

They show an "in-stock" date of October 9.

Well, it's a fairly inconsequential reissue of a disc that's pretty regularly marked down to begin with. It isn't surprising retailers aren't jumping to get it on the shelves.
