Wondering if BB, CC or Frys will run some $20 deals. Also might be a good time to get a new movie poster or two. Some of those Ledger posters are just awesome!

Might be time to replace Harry Potter or Spiderman....lol

well, looks like FYE is getting 3 different BLU-RAY steelbooks!

This should have been what they went with. Especially since the back of the slipcover is "defaced" by the Joker in the one they went with.

kefrank 10-16-08 11:34 PM

if the dark knight gets a blu-ray steelbook, i'm all over it.

tonymontana313 10-16-08 11:54 PM

This might be the one title that I might pull a "xage" and get more than one copy of it. I would be all over a steelbook version and the LE with batpod as well.

Yavin 10-17-08 08:30 AM

I sure hope these steelbooks get released in Canada ... I'm all for the Joker version ...

Nick Martin 10-17-08 11:49 AM

We always get steelbooks, don't we? I've never heard of a U.S. only steelbook of a movie when Future Shop here carries them.

Its been posted around that FYE was offering 3 designs - Batman, Joker, Harvey Dent. These were supposed to be available for both DVD and Blu-ray.

I just called FYE and I was told - NO steelbooks for Blu-ray, and only one design for DVD.

Oh my god anyone who says this movie was okay or no good has never watched a bad movie before this movie was amazing. Way better than you're Godfather garbage

Darknite39 10-21-08 04:43 PM

Whoa, there, chief. My username is derived from Batman, but I'd be reluctant to make such a strong statement.

Thought this thread was for discussions of the different releases (pending or confirmed) of "Dark Knight" not film discussion. That was a really random comment BTW.

How I wish the artwork for Dark Knight ends up being the art RocShemp posted. So good.

Is Amazon not going to sell the Limited Edition Batpod version on Blu-Ray? Just seems odd that they don't have it up for pre-order yet. Does anyone?

I came on here to ask the exact same question. The site I do all of my shopping from (cduniverse.com) had it up for pre-order initially, but now it is gone. Not only that, but I failed to find a listing on Amazon or DVDempire.

A guy on HDD posted the following:

i see that my distributor has a Dark Knight Limited Edition with msrp of $64.99. No info yet, but i'm extremely curious as to what it is. Here's the UPC if someone with connections might be able to get more info: UPC#883929034635

Could be the Batpod maybe??? Its a US distributor.

I'm sorry that you had to find out this way, but someone had to tell you :(

Nick Martin 10-21-08 10:41 PM

On the same release day, this is coming out:

http://www.amazon.com/Knight-Origina...4580784&sr=1-4

The Dark Knight 2-disc Special Edition CD soundtrack.

Expanded score?

Doubt it, since the music in the film didn't sound as though it would really fill 2 CDs unless there are a lot of alternates or something.

Special behind-the-scenes of the music? The same album packaged with the first film's soundtrack?

No idea, because there's no details.

as if THIS movie needed any more money - sheesh!

tonymontana313 10-22-08 02:11 PM

Oh WB is going to milk Dark Knight like nobody's business. I wouldn't doubt another "special edition" Blu-ray for TDK to come around this time next year.

I'm still waiting for the Harry Potter films with audio commentaries, which at one point Warner's mentioned they'd release - I'm sure the uber-box set with everything (and the kitchen sink) will come out when the last film is released onto home video.

Maybe YOUR screen, but if you have a scope screen (2.40:1), this is going to suck.

Do you only watch films in that AR and not in 1.78:1 or 1.85:1?
