If you haven't already, you may want to check out the thread over at AVS regarding Zulu. There are screencaps in the thread that look great to me, but many are complaining about excessive DNR being applied. I plan on buying it anyways as it blows away the R1 MGM dvd.

Do you have a link? Has it ended? I don't see it anywhere and I don't get any discount at checkout.

I'm gonna have to question some of those screenshots at AVS. I went to DVD Beaver and those screencaps show more grain and less "smooth" areas. I'll have to capture the same screenshots myself when I get it.

The reason why some screenshots look smoothed is because at the particular frame a screenshot is taken, there could be slight movement of the subject or the subject is just slightly out of focus. Which is why when I do it, I do several frames forward and back to make sure it's a fair representative.

To be fair, I've commented about TDK with some doubts, but that's another debate.

It's funny looking through the titles... I didn't realize so many of these movies were released in the U.S. because the cover art is soo much better on just about every single title.

YMMV of course, but I stopped in my local Super Center WM this morning and they had a display for the new Paramount 2 packs.

I think these were $19.92: Shooter/Italian Job, Patriot Games/Sum of All Fears, Face-Off/Next.

I believe The Ruins/Tomb Raider, Cloverfield/Sleepy Hollow were both $29+ each.

I wish they'd bundle Sweeney Todd with The Hunt for Red October, so I could knock out 2 titles I haven't gotten around to yet for some reason. I know they're very different, but so are Nacho Libre and The Spiderwick Chronicles.

Why the hell is Patriot Games bundled with Sum of All Fears? Shouldn't it be with Clear and Present Danger? (It would make more sense to me - then again, I guess they wouldn't sell many copies of Sum otherwise...)

It's been my experience that these combo packages usually involve one of two things: 1) There's one movie I want and another I have no interest in; or 2) There's one movie I want and I already have the other. It is usually the former since they love to package a poor seller with a good one.

I agree the combination isn't perfect BUT I just got this 2-pack for $2.99 at BestBuy.com (with in-store pickup) because they give you $20.00 any Blu/DVD purchase when you buy the TaxCut 2009 software (I got the Premium Federal with free efile for $34.99). Great deal.

Two Nickelodeon produced movies geared toward kids (Nacho Libre and Spiderwick) makes a lot more sense than a Musical about a murderer and a submarine thriller.

Picked up the Payback/We Were Soldiers 2 pack for $19.96 from Walmart today.

Hmmm, I didn't know Nacho Libre was geared towards kids (actual kids, that is).

Well then, how about ST and Zodiac next month? They're both about serial killers.

Paramount seems to be moving old stock not newer films (Zodiac) on BD.

Did anyone who ordered the Sopranos HD DVD sets from Borders ever get a shipping confirmation or charge on their card?

They finally charged my card this morning, so looks like I'll finally get those sets.

If you stuck it out, and end up getting these, good for you. I gave up on this order a couple of weeks ago, and cancelled the order. I'd honestly be surprised if they do ship these to you, but good luck.

Some decent BD deals at amazon.ca, if you're willing to wait for delivery...
Shipping to the US for all the above was CDN$17.94 (USD$14.72). Not too bad, considering the prices. 4

1 Usually ships within 2 to 3 weeks
2 Temporarily out of stock (will deliver when available)
3 Release date 01/13/2009
4 Current conversion rates from http://www.xe.com

Sin City is a great price, but if you want extra features wait just a but longer...a domestic release is on its way.

There's been zero news of a new release date since it was delayed a couple of months back.

I don't think they'd charge my card all of a sudden if they weren't shipping. I placed the order weeks ago.

They cancelled my order automatically. So, I'm assuming they had a certain amount in stock, then cancelled everyone else.

Oh well, I've never owned the flick on DVD and don't care about features so not a huge deal... just don't tell me the transfer is shit.
