Edison, you need to fix Die Insel. It's not in line.

I'm sad that even though I only have 1/2 as many Blus, I know they'll eventually dwarf my Reds.

Here's a recent video I took of my collection. Missing are about another 15 titles I added in the last week:

Love how you've got '3 Ninja's' directly after your HDM! I'm sure a guilty pleasure

Me too - I have seven of them in my media room! The first three I bought were grey metallic, but they don't make that finish anymore, so the other four are silver. They still work color-scheme wise, and I have glass shelves for five of them. There are two at the back of the room that I left with the standard shelves. I even think with Blu-rays you could get a fifth shelf in either the upper or lower sections because of the height difference from a regular DVD case.

I have watched 95% of the DVDs that I own (been collecting since '99). However, I have only watched 7 or 8 of the HDs/BDs that I have (been collecting since Feb '08/HD and June '08/BD).

Being a teacher, I have time during the summers to watch my movies.

How else could have I polished off Seasons 1-4 of 24 in a month. This summer I have already watched Seasons 5-6 of 24, Season 1-5 of Scrubs, and 2 Seasons of Survivor (Cook Islands and All-Stars) with Vanuatu and Palau on deck.

Check the link in my signature with the home theater photos.

To answer the last poster's question about viewing...

I'm embarrassed to say I have DVDs on my shelf that I bought in 2000 that I haven't watched yet! It's really about maintaining a library at this point, and I'll get to flicks when I can.

Rocky, that's actually a pretty nice set up you have there. I wish I could get a projector... but DLP will have to do for now

Finally got my stuff set up (only took a month).

Here's the whole wall:

Here's the Bertby (IKEA) case opened:

... and closed:

And I have the LED lights in the top to illuminate the cabinets so that you can see the titles when the room is dark. We're keeping the Wii/GCN/DS games in one of them:

It's a small collection, but it's growing!

No wonder you're a "starving" DVDer (sheesh, three-quarters of them aren't even opened) and it's no wonder studios continue to release so many lousy movies on high-def when people will apparently snatch up anything on the shelf.

no doubt. Personally I open my cases right away check it out. Maybe a special feature or just a couple scenes from the movie if I don't have time then to watch the whole thing. I can't imagine spending the $$ and just let it sit

In most cases? A lot of credit card debt, I imagine.

I probably have about 500 DVD titles over the better part of a decade. That averages out to about six a month, since I mostly stopped buying DVD when the HD formats came out. Maybe 40 Blu-ray and 20 HD DVD over the last year and a half.

No collection porn photos available.
