You said machines...are you actually one of the test stores for selling HDTVs, Sound systems, Slurpees?

Getting rid of Unlimited in store rentals with BBO return and raising the price? No thank you (Though I do understand that you as a store don't make much off of people with BBO envelopes anyway)

improving the stores, this involves actual work and forward thinking.
i look at his message of the week every week and keyes seems to have
lots of enthusiasm and wants to do the things needed to move in a better
direction.
i like that he wants the stores to move product around and change the way the shelves are often to make it look fresh.

there is over 5000 i think.
going by what that guy just said 1/6 th or 12.5 % of 5000 = 600.
so 600 more stores will close this year. we'll see

That's cool though that you work in one of the test stores. It would be neat to actually see one, but I can't see them competing with the likes of Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Fry's and Circuit City. Any of those stores in the general area of your location? Personally, Blockbuster is the last place I would go to and purchase a HDTV or anything like that. The return policy is whack and to be honest, the majority of employees that worked for me had no idea what aspect ratio or anamorphic meant so I can't imagine them knowing the differences between 1080i/p or anything else technical.
After the failed Game Rush concept (which I was recruited for), I can't see BB sticking with the "Media" format very long unless its a huge success. Trading and retning Videogames alongside DVD made sense...buy renting DVDs and buying a HDTV...at the same time? Didn't they do the same thing we CDs in the early 90's?

yep your right aout the % being higher. i didnt carry the 1.
but that makes my point even better.
(i did half of 25% not half of 33%)
835 stores closing this year, ok we'll see.
gizmo i dont work in a test store, they are only in dallas and there are only 13 of them.
honostly i'm not a bbv drone i couldn't care less what they do in there.
but after nearly 6 years it is invigorating to see change that might actually be good.
if bbv wants to improve sales of things like blu-ray they really need to educate the
employees.
but that won't happen.
store i'm in is mostly just kids and the oldest person is 46, she is there as a second job and doesn't really care aout aspect ratio and blu ray or much more then upselling the rewards and presales.
but that makes my point even better.
