No. Grindhouse was an already finished film where as KB:TWBA has never been completed

What do you mean it's never been completed? QT said ages ago that the animation was done for the additional segment he wanted to add to the movie. All the elements are there, they just need to be assembled together for the release, same as Grindhouse. Not saying it'll happen any time soon, but it's not like there's much else to do besides recording a couple commentaries and such.

I think what he means is that it never was released into theatres as TWBA. where as Grindhouse was released in theatres in the form we are finnally getting in October.

I don't see why that would have any bearing whatsoever on the eventuality of a release.

No, The Whole Bloody Affair is apparently a more in-depth recut than that. Probably not drastically different, but Tarantino has said he wanted to tweak it throughout rather than just slap the two films together.

Thats what i meant and Grindhouse isn't a DC or anything it was already airing in HD on TV so all they had to do was transfer it to BR. TWBA has to be re-edited and everything and QT hasn't mentioned anything about it in years so i kinda assume it is dead.

Because its not like grindhouse where they are just transfering over a allready completed release of the film. TWBA involves much more work.
And personally as much as i enjoy kill bill. I would rather see Quintin make new movies, than spend time revisiting and tinkering something that is allready great as it was released.

Oh and by the way I love the way you over simplify the amount of time and work that goes into editing a film so that it works as whole.
If it were only so easy as to slap all the elements togeather. geesh

Well here is a big out of the blue surprise, comming the last week of March and first weekend of April they will be premiereing and showing(for a whole week) the whole Bloody afair at the New Beverly Cinema here in Hollywood. (Tarantino actually is one of the theatres owners so it makes sense that this would be the place it has its first showing)
http://www.newbevcinema.com/calendar.cfm

You know that there will be plenty in the audience, will be wanting to ask durring one of the most likely Q&A's that will be held with this about a home video release.
After the unfortunate passing of his long time Collaberator Sally Menke, I am sure QT wanted to see this get finished and screened to honor her memory and their long collaberation over the years.

Interesting. That does give hope that there WILL, in fact, be an eventual release of this...

The Playlist has a good piece elaborating on at least one change, but the rest is still "who knows?" http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayli...y_premiere_in/

Hopefully he reorders the chapters. As two separate volumes it's okay for the second film to have such a relaxed pacing (although the first film wasn't exactly wall-to-wall action either). As one whole feature, it'll feel as if the film lost all momentum during the halfway mark.

He has a say in quite a bit of the theatres bookings every month for quite some time now when he came in and helped to keep the theatre open for a few years by helping the theatre operator cover bills and what not and then by buying the theatre, which had been in danger of shutting down due to the previous land lord wanting to sell it after its operator died last year.

The new beverly has been a favorite indie theatre of mine since i first moved out here years ago. My first experince there was a double feature Billed when animals attack featuring JAWS and The Birds

Maybe the impending release of Duke Nukem Forever was also a motivating factor.

There's a rumor going around that the premiere will actually happen at SXSW in a few weeks.

The fact that tickets are on sale for the New Beverly screenings aren't enough for you?

I'm very jealous of those of you who get to see this, hopefully it will have some sort of BD release down the road.

Maybe we'll get it this fall along with Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown.

And, what the hell, Lionsgate is probably almost due for another Reservoir Dogs release. Well, maybe not until next year since it will be the 20th anniversary. I feel old.

point? Uhm...that the update has worth while OTHERS who bump up a KB thread simply to ask about it don't have a good reason to bump it....which when bumped gets people all excited and hopeful only to find out it's just a guy asking a stupid question when the product will come out.
