point? Uhm...that the update has worth while OTHERS who bump up a KB thread simply to ask about it don't have a good reason to bump it....which when bumped gets people all excited and hopeful only to find out it's just a guy asking a stupid question when the product will come out.

Yeah, that was his point. That, unlike other times this thread has bgeen bumped, the thread bump was actually valid this particular time.

Doctorossi's reading comprehension skills are clearly lacking, but your initial post, SSP, sounded like something a very sarcastic person who thought the bump was useless would have said, even though it wasn't.

Also, inevitably, should QT be there to host, one of the first questions will be about a BD release. If I attend, I'll post any relevant info I gather.

If a completed cut of TWBA exists, I can't imagine that there won't be a Blu-ray and DVD release in the near future.

they are not to bright over, there at AICN. dont even get me started on their L.A. contributor Mr Beaks. New Beverly is a very popular theatre, plays to pretty packed crowds for most of the double features that take place there. The fact that this is actually being programed for an entire week, even says that QT and the rest of the management know they are going to be packed for all the showings.

I think people are reading too much into this. "Kill Bill" is one of my favorite movies of all time and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of "The Whole Bloody Affair" as much as anyone but I'm inclined to believe this is more a case of QT saying "hey, if we're going to show Kill Bill I have that print of the rough combined version from Cannes a few years back" then any sort of sign that the WBA that he wants to release is coming any time soon.
As I've said elsewhere: I would love nothing more to be wrong. I just don't think I am. There's been no word of Production IG doing the new animation for the extended anime sequence that Tarantino wants to do and the whole "never screened in the US" thing suggests it's something that HAS screened elsewhere, and if that's the case this isn't Tarantino's "real" "Whole Bloody Affair".
I also don't think it would essentially be buried unceremoniously in a week-long block of programming without either being the first or last thing shown but as it stands its almost overshadowed by the "Pulp Fiction" screening.
So yeah, again, I hope I'm wrong but I think this screening is going to come and go and people are going to realize that it's nothing new and then the waiting game will begin again.

And QT wouldnt do that unless this was the actual" Kill Bill the whole bloody afair". remember QT actually Owns the theatre he this is playing at and they are doing a actual redcarpet premiere for it in March as well.
If your not from the L.A. area and are thinking of comming into town to see this, you can buy tickets for the whole bloody afair, online when they go on sale next week according to the theatre.

I think the big House of Blue Leaves sequence plays better in black and white than color. Sure it'd be nice to have the brief bits of additional gore added back into the scene. But I'd still prefer it to be in black and white, since it was a great stylish choice and looked awesome, and the switch back to color gag was quite amusing.
The color version just doesn't work for me at all and the blood looks pretty bad and more like water than blood. The B&W obscures that fake look a bit and just seems to work perfectly. Also when you see the aftermath in color at the end of the scene, it has more impact and looks quite gruesome while still delivering some dark humor laughs as well.
I'm not to sure how I'll feel about a combined Volume 1 and 2 unless there is some drastic re-editing done. Since in their current form. Volume 1 is paced wonderfully, while Volume 2 drags severely with not much story left to tell despite it's length. Yet if the right balance could be found, an amazing film could result, but with how drastic the style and tone is between each volume. That seems like a huge task and maybe even impossible to achieve. However, Tarantino did get his mojo back with Inglourious Basterds, which I felt was perfect from beginning to end and wouldn't change one second of it.

Have you ever actually tried watching the combined version? It's a freaking masterpiece. And no the b&w version is not better. I've asked this before elsewhere. If you love a movie and you find out that internationally there's another version with scenes that were cut for censorship reasons. Which version are u gonna want to see?

I like the Japan version. That's why I'm waiting to upgrade my DVDs on this title.

Censorship wasn't at play in the black and white sequence. that sequence was specifically singled out as intended for black and white even in the script. And as Julie Walker stated, it's far more stylish that way and has that great back to colour gag.

No one said anything about "censorship" - they're just different versions. Also, it was denoted as B&W in the published script, but not in the shooting script that they were going off of when shooting. If it were, they would've used a different substance for the blood that photographs better for B&W and isn't as bright.

My post was in response to sidewinder572 who did bring up the issue of "censorship".

I'm not talking specifically about the HOBL scene. The fact of the matter is the Japan version is a different cut. The anime sequence is longer, there's extra shots of violence and of course the HOBL is in full color and it's longer.
And yes I know it's in the script that it switches to black and white. But keep in mind that the version of the script found online is an early version, plus too if QT didn't want it to be in color it would have never been released that way. Scripts are merely blueprints for the final film they are meant to be watched not read.
