I can't believe Best Buy is putting this on sale a week after its release. Everyone who bought it this week at best buy will be able to get their $7 back.

This is an ugly, frustrating trend they are doing with brand new release BDs. They've done it with other titles. Most recent was The Bucket List, which was $24.99 during its 2ND week of release.

Best Buy knows absolutely nothing about treating its customers right on any level. Every single time I go into one of their stores, or have an issue of something I need to replace/exchange, it turns into a BIG freakin' ordeal. I would call 1-888-BestBuy and they'd always have to set the store straight. Ridiculous. I KNOW their policies and the 888 number knows the policies from customer relations, the stores never seem to know how to treat a customer though. And now my faith on the higher end of Best Buy's tier, has to be sullied by really bad business tactics such as this. I'm sure they're aware that some will come and get that money back, but I'm sure they count on many people being ignorant on the issue, or being lazy enough not to go back.

Ugly, frustrating trend, is an understatement. Their one saving grace for me was decent prices but it seems every month I become closer to the fact that I should stop giving them my business.

It's not bad business...it's smart business.

Thanks for the heads-up. Got this from Netflix Tuesday & really liked the movie & disc a whole lot, so I bought it at BB yesterday & will price-match next week. Light years better than my other Tuesday rental, Gotham Knight, what a POS that was.

This movie was good. I didn't get a chance to see it in the theater. I think they did a great job at making the tension get ever so tighter throughout the entirety of the film. I could feel their fear of the unknown that was happening and the completely 'we're screwed' feelings they were having, kinda reminded me of Cabin Fever in that respect.

And the Blu-Ray disc just looked absolutely fantastic.

I guess most of you would recommend this as a blind buy? I was considering picking it up, but I've heard so many mixed things about it. I mentioned it to one friend, who hadn't seen it, and she said that she heard it was shit. I asked another friend if she had seen it and her response was, "Unfortunately, yes." But I remember reading some decent reviews on it, but then again, I do remember reading some not so enthusiastic reviews.

How does this compare to other recent big horror movies like The Descent? I really loved that one, though I have heard some people hating on that movie as well.

It has nothing on The Descent, imo, but it's still a tense and enjoyable movie -- if you're in the right mindset for it.

Yup, HATED the book, didn't work as a novel at all. So I never bothered seeing this in the theater.

Blind bought & IMO the best American horror since, well, I can't think of the last good American horror movie, but this movie is pure gives-you-the-heebie-jeebies horror, & one of the rare examples of a movie being better than the book.

I must be in the minority here, but rented this last week because I never got around to seeing it in the theaters. I'm glad I didn't blind buy this one it would have been watch once put up on eBay. I've had more than a couple people liken it to Cabin Fever which was another one I just couldn't get into, so I guess that should have sent up a flare.

I did however like the Descent really well.

I agree with both of your statements.

good movie, watched it with mediocre expectations and was satisfied at the end.
