Paramount stopped sending out review copies for their HD DVDs, but High Def Digest reviewed a copy they bought in the...well, wild:

Into the Wild

DVD Talk didn't get a copy of Atonement to review, but a few other sites apparently did:

DVD File
Home Theater Spot
Atonement

Into the Wild was apparently DVDBeaver's last HD-DVD reviewed, and they said it's worth the upgrade.

I picked this one up for $7.50 at Hollywood Video and instead of it being a rental copy it was a brand new copy. Definitely worth buying.

Atonement will probably be the last.

Into the Wild is a great looking HD-DVD, and a decent movie too.

I sent out emails to studios about both titles. Paramount didn't offer screeners, and Universal never got back to me.

Do we only get reviews if screeners are sent out? Both are superb discs and worth paying for.

Not always, but because there's always so much to review from the pool of screeners we have been sent, it's hard to find the time.

(Coincidentally, I just finished watching Into the Wild, and even though I'd just gotten this rental copy from Blockbuster Online, I'm on the brink of buying it.)

Into The Wild is $25, man. Kinda spendy for me.

I thought Amazon had it listed for $20 something or less. I guess they have risen the price on it.

Here's hoping it dips again. Of course, I just realized I paid $40 something for T2 HD DVD, so slap me silly.

I've got a copy of Into the Wild I'll trade for Michael Clayton on HD DVD. Reviewers? Anyone? I know, I should start a trade thread... just thought I'd throw that out there.

On topic, allow me to provide a brief non-DVDTalk review of the sparse extras for this film: decent content, APPALLING picture quality. Non-anamorphic letterbox on an HD DVD for a brand-new film? Seriously? And I'm not kidding when I say that much of it looks like VHS quality. Terrible.
