Insane, the CC in Round Rock (La Frontera) still has a small section. I'm going in the morning and hopefully they will still have them.

a lot of stuff that's $17-20 at DDD or Amazon is $5-8.xx there. What I ordered last night WITH shipping was only $30 US, and would have been $48 at DDD.

It is most definitely worth it.

But you might as well buy that stuff from Amazon.de., Mediadis.com, or dvd.co.uk as well, though. I guess outside of the US, your expenses are about the same.

For me in New Zealand, ezydvd has been amazing. Makes me not feel so bad that silly old amazon decided to up their shipping to an arm and a leg to over here, meaning I missed out on a lot of great deals.

I ordered BSG from ezydvd. I don't mind not having the mini-series.

They were $24.99. I can go back tomorrow and get 1/2 of that back which is OK I guess, but I know those titles would never survive to a 70% sale. I may grab Shooter if they still have it, but that will be $15 and I have the SD already so I passed on it today.

I don't follow. Cheapest offerings from dvd.co.uk are 6.95 pounds, or $13.xx us, and a lot more of them are combo discs, Mediadis.com's lowest are 9.99 pounds. Amazon.de is 8.97 or 9.97 eur. I can get them for cheaper than that in the US.

EazyDVD on the other hand, has a good selection of stuff for $6-9 us, and shipping on each order was only $4.40 per disc. ($17.50 for 4 titles) Beat that anywhere and i'll gladly shop elsewhere. And i'm not worried about it taking two weeks. I'm trying to get what I can now before they disappear...who knows what the future holds with these.

Hmmm. Well, I guess it depends on the titles you get. I mostly purchased titles unavailable on HD DVD in the US. I'll have to revisit ezydvd to see what other titles they have. I have most of what I need, so it's the new releases I'm after.

FYI: Here's the titles that got dropped to $6.92au...The shipping rates seem to be flexible, as i placed two separate 2 disc orders and they combined them and charged $17.50 instead of $21. YMMV. Note the 7.02 went up to 7.92 - and 9.02 went up to 9.92. Still a great deal on Into the Wild.

AU$6.92 = US$6.34
Born on the Fourth of July
The Frighteners
The Good Shepherd
Holiday
Mr. Beans Holiday
Ray
Red Dragon

AU$7.92 = US$7.25
Black Snake Moan
Four Brothers
Into The Wild
Mighty Heart

International Shipping
1 = AU$5.50 = US$5.10
2 = AU$9.50 = US$8.80
3 = AU$18.00 = US$16.60 (includes insurance and registration)
4 = AU$21.00 = US$19.30 (includes insurance and registration)
5 = AU$25.00 = US$23.00 (includes insurance and registration)

I talked to a rep here in Austin today and he mentioned that the hd-dvd movies were pulled off the shelves at stores across the US in anticipation for the sale on Sunday.

I have heard of them holding products for sale and this may be the case to prevent people from purchasing everything up and price matching the day of the sale.

I am surprised at the number of titles that are already sold out online.

they've been like that since the $10.49 sale. Speculation was that all the stores sending them back would replenish the on-line stock. I'm very curious to see what they do over night.

Hmm....interesting doings at BB.com. I placed my items of interest in my cart last night and have been keepign track of them all day. As of 8pm the price hadn't changed. As of a few minutes ago everything was up to MSRP. Looks like they are getting ready for that blowout event.

yep...everything was increased up to $24.99 or higher. I've got ten that are in-stock in my cart - comes to $265, but if they go 70% off, it would be $80

I didn't know they charge $3 per disc for shipping. very very lame.

It is 8:15 EST and they are not discounted on BB's or CC's website yet. I am beginning to think that this is store only.

Edit:
Actually it looks like they have posted the new prices online, but the prices are easily beatable.

http://entertainment.circuitcity.com.../Specials.aspx

You will find several banners that say HD DVD Fire Sale and Save up to $5 Get them before there gone!

Will be going by CC on the way to church to get price adjustment.

It says save up to $10 each, actually. But they are all $5 or $10 off of retail!!! Nice, sale. They were cheaper before the fire sale...

I don't think that CC "fire sale" is the same as the 50% off sale. It specifically states in the ad 50% off. None of these prices are 50% off.

It also says "select titles available on circuitcity.com". So WTF are they?

Sometimes CC requires a coupon code for online sales, but don't see one in this case.

I am wondering what happened to the 50% off select titles online. I'll be interested to see what people get in store.

50% will not be on the website for CC. It will only be in store.
