Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Pardon my not reading 11 pages of posts but, will Fulci's The Beyond, The House By The Cemetery, and Zombi 2 ever come to Blu-Ray and or via Blue Underground?

I would love to see all three of those, especially House by the Cemetery and Zombi 2

Glad to know the City of the Living Dead BD I already pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk (discounted because I was buying Dawn and Day at the same time) is indeed region free.

I'm not familiar with this one, but looking at the cover that's the one thing that really got me excited too. Love Falk too, but if I blind buy this it'll be to see BE in HD.

Didn't BU already let it slip that Zombi 2 was coming this year?

My BD collection is sorely missing BU content. I'll probably upgrade a lot of my BU discs I've bought over the years.

Over in the UK, Arrow who is releasing City Of The Living Dead later this month is contemplating releasing The Beyond on Blu but needs to see how much interest there is for it first. cult-labs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2839&page=3

well the DVDBeaver review has swayed me from buying the US version and opting for the UK one instead.

FYI - It's (Arrow) the same transfer as the one Blue Underground will be using. I'll stick with the UK to match my Dawn/Day, but good to know I wasn't going to get a less superior version because of my OCD habit. I'll probably toss The Descent 2 BD in the order as well since I dug the film on DVD.

the latest issue of Horror Hound (May/June) issue has a great retrospect article on 'City of the Living Dead' AND mentions 'DVDTalk' twice in the article -

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

you can also note that Fulci's films have gone mainstream with Entertainment Weekly gives a nod to buy 'City' and a Window's 7 tv ad features the zombie/shark scene from 'Zombie'

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

For those of you who have ordered Arrow's releases of City Of The Living Dead, Dawn/Day of the Dead, have the BD's come without any smashes, dents or dings the packaging?

I would mostly be buying the three for packaging and I read over at Blu-Ray.com forums, that some folks had their sets come crushed.

Mine (all 3) arrived in a cardboard box (not loose inside - they were snug). All pretty much undamaged (City has a small dent on a side, but that could have happened before Amazon got it). Nothing I was like "what the fuck" about, because I would have complained.

Why do all my local stores have every Blue Underground blu-ray I don't want, but they don't have the one I do want (Django)?

You could order it from FamilyVideo and spend $16.99 shipped, if you can wait:

(with code TWEETSHP).
