Semi-rhetorical question:
What's the turnaround time between a studio submitting a mastered title to the manufacturer and having that title ready to ship to stores?
I ask this because I'm curious about how long it will take Paramount and Dreamworks to re-issue their previous Blu-Ray releases once they make a decision.

Luckily, I swapped all my WB hd-dvds for BDs when WB switched to BD.
For my WB hd-exclusives, universal and paramount hd-dvds, it will be a more gradual process. I wont be switching them right away unless its one of my favorite titles.
I have some hd-dvds that arent on bluray and probably wont be for a while (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Equilibrium, Running Scared) and alot of homemade hd-dvds, so Im not getting rid of my A3 player. So, im not opposed to keeping them a little while longer. Plus, resale is gonna be harder since hd-dvd is dead now.

No. It's going to be a long process before we see all of their HD DVD releases on Blu-ray, assuming it ever happens. Hell, too many of Universal's HD DVD releases seemed like shovelware to fill a quota as it was.

I bet they will do them slowly over the next year or 2. I dont think they can do this overnight. We will start to see some trickle out soon though.
Plus, they may be using some to re-encode/add features or help market a sequel or something.

Universal could make out the best on this deal by sitting back and releasing the same exact catalog titles over the next two years, saving the big titles for a larger market.

I think it will be awhile before the older, lesser known catalog titles start dropping, but we will definitely see the biggest movies on HD-DVD hit Blu Ray pretty damn fast.
