Looks like many of the titles have gone back up in price, unfortunately.

Thanks. Even though it was recommended to call and wait for a CSR with an accent, I emailed them based on the replies here.

$117 back in gift certificates...damn.

For one, they gave me $25 back when the total was $20 (2 HD DVDs that were $19.99 on BOGO). So they gave them to me for free and then $5 as well. Thanks Amazon!

Kind of makes me wish I would've bought more BD during the BOGO sale.

They gave me another $17 magically now as well.
I have $117 in my account from the refunds and bought Good Luck Chuck and Mr Woodcock. Total was $51.90. This is what it says now:

Shipping Method: Two-Day Shipping
Shipping Preference: I want my items faster. Ship them as they become available.
Subtotal of Items: $51.90
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Promotion Applied -$17.00
Pre-order Guarantee -$0.00
------
Total: $34.90
Gift Certificates/Cards: - $34.90
------
Total for this Order: $0.00

They only "charged" me $34.90 and I have no idea what that $17.00 Promotion is. I tried it again and it didn't show up...whatever Amazon. Whatever.

So far I have confirmed $92.48 in refunds! I have received responses on 7 other orders but the refund has not officially posted yet. I am still waiting for a response on 3 orders but they should be fine as they are no different than the other 10 that went through with no problems. Should have over $200 in total refunds when all is said and done...very nice!

I sent an email and the Indian CSR denied me, will calling get me the refund or do they keep track if you tried and were denied? Thanks.

Did they deny the request unjustly? Then you should call and make your case. But your order number probably does have a note on it in their system.

I think they probably sent a memo to everyone to deny refund w/ BOGO.

Hello from Amazon.com.
I apologize for any disappointment you might have with this situation.

I don't think so, some have gotten a refund on BOGO when emailing.

Dude, you should have waited for the TrueHD version of Superman Returns.

BTW, it looks like I'm not getting the refunds for the BOGO titles. It's been reported on AVS that others have had them taken away, and they haven't shown up on my gift certificate balance. The non-BOGO titles' refunds have been applied, except for one. So, it looks like I may not get the Die Hard titles for a little over $2 each after all.

Edit: I see that the other discounts were applied to the credit card! Thanks Amazon!

So, can anyone confirm that they have gotten the discount, either by submitting a 2nd request via email or by calling, after receiving a rejection?

flix1:

I sent in five different emails for five different orders. (At the time, I didn't know you could combine the orders on the "Email" tab.) I got back one rejection, and heard nothing on the other four emails. I decided to re-send, and just for the hell of it, I re-sent all five--including the one that had been rejected. The next day I got notices that ALL of my requests had been approved. (One of them was for items purchased in the "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" sale sometime back in November.) Soon after, I received notices that the credits had been applied. So yes... it just might work if you've already been rejected. For those who care about such things, the guy that rejected my first refund request was Indian.

Update:

I received the refund notices for the remaining 10 orders ($155.62). So the grand total is $248.10!!! Well worth the time it took to write these up and send in. Absolutely no problems whatsoever, so I hope it all works out. Recent posts here have me worried, though...this wouldn't the first time Amazon has giveth and then taketh away (and I think we all know what infamous incident I am referring to).

I've been having success with orders back into late-November, early-December including my A3 order pre-Thanksgiving (the A3 was down to $131.98 this week). Crazy.
