Damn. So far so good. Ordered this afternoon and just got shipping confirmation. Let's see if it takes the 8-15 days to arrive that it says.

Today I ordered MIB and The Fifth Element, which was under $9. They shipped MIB but TFE must be backordered.

Oop. Actually read the email too fast. MIB has shipped but Cloverfield is processing and "shipping soon." Still fast.

amazon.fr is having a huge HD DVD sale right now. Many imports are available for about $10 American before shipping. Picked up Mullholland Drive, Elephant Man, Leaving Las Vegas and American Dream for about $70 shipped.

Hmm you guys are actually giving me hope to order from Tower.com. I've been scared away by all the negative reviews about them from various sites. Looks like I'm going to go with the Cloverfield/Men in Black combo.

Thanks for the heads-up, I've got The Shining and 2001: A Space Odyssey coming my way for ~$7 each, shipped. Just got the shipping confirmations for both of them, so it looks like they went through just fine.

ezydvd.com.au is having a sweet fire-sale for HD-DVDs right now - I guess their last one. -- ranging from $3.75 US (Big Lebowski, Born on the 4th of July, etc) to $47.60 for Star Trek Season 1.

https://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?...v=1&himg=pr836

Not a bad deal.

edit - note: shipping for the star trek set is $20 Aus

Also, before I forget - buy any 3 and get HP: order of the Phoenix HD free.

9.99 Euros is about $15.50 US - or is that a price increase from what it was before?

edit - I'm seeing some cheaper ones now. BTW - can anyone tell if the "Curse of the Golden Flower" HD-DVD is subbed or not? the amazon.fr page says jack and the fnac.fr entry says languages are "English and French" with "French" subtitles - nothing about mandarin or anything. Anyone know?

Didn't notice the VAT removal until checkout.

Picked up "La Haine", "Curse of the Golden Flower", and "Brotherhood of the Wolf" for about $64 shipped.

Thanks for the tip.

Your welcome. $20 is not a bad price for some titles they may never be available in HD. Pain trying to figure out the French though...thank gid my high school came in handy.

Wouldn't be so bad if they listed all the specs clearly - I had to dig through several different review sites for "Golden flower" before I could figure out that it had any subs, much less English.

Fry's is getting ready for something HD DVD related...mine had tons of boxes of Warner titles and what looks to be Universal as well. Other people on AVS said their Fry's was doing the same thing... Tomorrow may be very expensive for me.

A friend of mine said Fry's had some kind of list of incoming HD DVD's up in the section.

I won't get to see the ad until after I get to work, but if they are doing any Uni titles for under $10 I'll probably get some more of the ones that seem doubtful for Blu any time soon.

Is it safe to assume that this will be in-store only? Should it happen of course
