That's awesome news and a great cover. Aren't Sony releases region free anyway?

Damn...Might import this. My DVD bootleg copy should fetch enough to pay this off.

Damn, I'm going to have to import this. I love the film, and the extended version ("Untitled") is a much better cut IMO.

I'm definitely getting this. I know if it comes out here (and since this was a Dreamworks title, it would be released on HD-DVD) it wouldn't have the same cover and may or may not be the extended cut which is far superior.

Thanks for the heads-up, I just pre-ordered it for £11.48 + £3.08 Postage & Packing) = £14.56, $28.49 as of today... not too bad. I'll trust the artwork & say it's the extended edition.

i know it's original alternate poster art, but i really don't like that cover. i strongly prefer the cover of the "bootleg cut" dvd. nevertheless, it's exciting that this is getting a hi-def release!

I ordered it too. It's a pretty good price and Amazon is pretty good about cancelling orders if need be.

I think I'll wait until I get confirmation on which version it will be. Anyone know the differences between the UK and Japanese versions in terms of encode and extras? I'm pretty sure both releases will be region free since it is a Sony catalog title.

Where did you pre-order it from? I'm tempted to import this title as I don't think it will be available any time in the near future.

Amazon UK
I wasn't charged £13.49 either... put it in your "basket" & you should see £11.48.

I thought Blu Ray players wouldn't play other region discs. I'm curious because I'm getting a PS3. This makes me interested.

It's up to studios to enforce region-coding and a lot of them haven't (Fox does, I'm pretty sure). I have a couple of UK blu-rays and they play fine on my US players. Also different this time around from DVD is that Japan is the same region as the U.S. and they have some exclusive titles as of now that are playable on all (like Ronin, Commando, etc.)

I didn't notice the runtime difference on Amazon. It really wouldn't matter to me which version this was. I liked some of the additional material in "Untitled", but really disliked other bits of the new stuff. Overall I prefer the theatrical because of that...

I'll wait for reviews and confirmation that it's region free before ordering it. But just under 30 bucks from Amazon UK isn't too bad.

Maybe if Cameron asked again Zeppelin would let him put in Stairway. They seem to be letting loose of the catalog these days to anybody willing to give them a dollar.

And how can anybody not like that cover. drool...
