Question about Universal HD.

i was watching a movie the other day on Universal HD and they had commercials in it. had anyone else noticed this or was it just an isolated thing? seems kind of lame that not only do i have to pay more for the channel now, but it also has commercials.

It's something they've just started doing over the past week or so.

It makes the channel borderline-worthless to me now.

Ack! On top of that, they recently started charging us (Directv) for that, although I got the first three months free.

Comcast doesn't charge for the channel.

I recently noticed this too. The other night they showed the Robocop trilogy, and as I'm watching they say "with limited commercial interruptions"

It wasn't free for me in my area before. It was part of like a four dollar HD channel package with time warner. It now, is free.

Well, the "F*** Me" was missing from Robocop where he beat up the robber in the convenience store....

Same Here. I had it during the olympics but they took it down soon thereafter.

In ATL, Comcast added Universal HD for 2+ weeks during the 06 Winter Games and took it off afterwards. But they added it back a few months ago.

Comcast seems to be ramping up their HD offerings in response to the DBS providers, so I imagine it will show up on most Comcast systems in the near future. We got several "HD" new channels a few weeks back and seeing several of them makes me wary of all of them.

I used to think that the History Channel HD might be really cool.

I did notice a Blu-ray commercial on Universal HD a few days ago, which I found surprising. Maybe they have been showing that one all along and I missed it because they showed commercials much more sparingly last year. But I seem to recall only HD-DVD commercials before.
