Don't feel so bad, I paid around $30 bucks for that same cable (6ft) from Wal-Mart which is their normal price.

Heck, I buy my HDMI cables from Amazon for about $3. No problems so far!

Thanks for all this info. good stuff. I'm definitely getting a PS3- It hought I'd never say that- i hate Sony, but I admit, they were smart with their "evil" plan of making the PS3 a Blu-Ray player.

It looks excellent, though of course it varies from disc to disc.

Can you explain more? Is it a selectable output resolution (like on my XA2), or is it just "1080p", and the PS3 checks the display and decides what's optimal? Also, is it in the base firmware, or is the update required to get 24 fps?

Thanks.

As of firmware release 1.80, it is a menu option that you can turn on or off under Display settings. I tried it when it came out but my display doesn't support it - the screen was black. It gave me the option to revert back after a few seconds fortunately. Here's a link to all of the PS3's firmware releases:

Thank you.

One more question: Can you explain this "Local Storage Capability" spec, and what capacity the PS3 40G ships with?

Thanks again.
