Agree... the paramount news was the shocker (remember i kept asking "is this for real?" and a lot you said "how real you wanna get?") As a matter of fact, b/c that move, i went format neutral (Transformers).

Alright, now the big question is WTF is WB going to say at the HD-DVD presentation tomorrow?

As you may know, there's a current BD B1G1 sale at Amazon.com.

Since this may be the case, I'm off to do some impulse buying

I think they might really need those protective steel cages I talked about in another thread.

"Sorry."

? It's my best guess. I really don't care, I'm neutral. Although it does suck I just bought both players 2 months ago. Luckily I have not spent much on HD-DVDs.

Maybe now this board can calm down and become a little more civil. Speaking of which, welcome back Pro-B!

Not me. I am done buying HD until I know for a fact BR is it. I know HD-DVD is basically done, but I'm still not confident about BR players...

The question is will WB even show up at the hd-dvd presentation? Either way, they did it the right way by honoring their hd-dvd release slate till May.

I stopped buying largely because the additional cost (especially on lukewarm catalog titles) wasn't worth it to me. Once I start seeing BDs in stores for $15-$20, I'll be picking up a lot more of them.

I will never buy support anything else in HD again....
Wont be getting an HD TV, will never buy blu-ray or another Hd film. Fuck them all.
Standard def (and my 10 Hd-DVD movies) will be the only way I go. And if Wb starts putting prominent special Features exclusvely on Blu-ray. My movie collecting days are done. This is how they treat me then fuck them. They wont see anymore monry from me.

For some reason it reminds me of the scene from the Blues Brothers of Elwood and Jake with the chicken wire in front of them.

Looks like I need to return my unopened Warner HD DVDs in favor of the Blu-ray versions.

Well, I can't afford to buy a Blu-Ray standalone or PS3 at this time. So, I'll just enjoy what HD DVDs I have and when BR players hit the $100 mark, then maybe I'll become dual-format.

Its over for HD DVD, plain and simple. Oh well. I'll curb my WB buying to Blu yet continue to buy new HD DVD movies as usual. This should have happened before Christmas... Returns will start soon. Harry potter owners will be pissed. Clearance sales will ne nice though. Time to buy an XA2!

Unless something huge happens for HD DVD...Sony won. Ugh

Well, it's time HD DVD people to begin letter writing and phone calls to Warner. Let them know that after May, you won't be buying ANY of their releases, standard or BluRay.

I don't think the war is over, not with the influx of cheap players coming later in the year. HD can still win this with their price advantage. Get enough players out there, and the studios will support it. That's what the PS3 did for Blu, HD just needs these sub $100 players from China to make their way over. But obviously this is a huge blow.
