During all the Blu-Ray BOGO's, where were the HD DVD BOGO's? They also didn't have near the ad campaign Blu-Ray has had. I don't know if Toshiba refused to spend more money promoting their format or simply couldn't afford to, but either way, to me, it always seemed like they were a day late and a dollar short. I firmly believe they could have won if they had managed their campaign better. |

Isn't it funny how some of the studios are reverting to their early DVD behavior? Fox with higher prices and bare bones discs, WB with autostart.... I just watched all the Harry Potter discs, and on every one I had to pause at the WB logo, select the lossless audio, then start again. Such a PITA. |

I just read the first page and last page of this thread but is it now safe to assume it's safe to buy a Blu-Ray player now? I'm actually one of the people that have sat on the sidelines waiting for one format to emerge.

I imagine at this point...They may make a Dual Player and hopefully it will be sub $500. I'll buy one as Toshiba is pretty fast on firmware updates unlike the current Dual Format CE's Samsung and LG. |
I also hate that WB discs go straight to the movie. They don't even really have a proper title screen.
