I'm not buying all the last minute spin & FUD, I think they will eventually go Blu, I think it just makes sense (at least to me anyways). OTOH if Warner goes solely red, I won't stop buying their titles, but I will be disappointed. If they do stay neutral, I am encouraged by reports that New Line's Shoot 'Em Up BD features an encode with bitrate that surpasses what is possible on HD DVD... can't wait to check it out when it arrives from Amazon tomorrow. As long as Warner/NL stop giving BD encodes aimed at the lowest common denominator, I have no current issue with them keeping both formats.

Please don't cancel TAOJJBYTCRF.

So they wouldn't show the movie anywhere when it was in theaters and now they are possibly canceling the HD release? Jesus Christ, do they just not want people to see TAOJJBYTCRF or what???

It is maxed out on video + audio using Blu-Ray specs. Great work by new line, looks AND sounds just amazing. Blind Buy for me and very happy with it.

I doubt it means anything, but when I was trying to preorder Bonnie and Clyde there was only a listing on Amazon for the HD DVD. Again, this probably means nothing, but it is strange what happened with Jesse James. Granted all versions of that movie are gone so who knows.

If he looks at a meter he can.

Universal has done several reference material transfers on HD DVD, just as Fox has done some utter crap transfers on Blu-ray. It's not the format that's the issue, it's the people doing the transfer. |

I think Warner has proven its commitment to its classics. The chances of those titles getting a whole new transfer would have been slim, anyway, as WB typically doesn't do that.

I prefer Gremlins 2, myself.

It would be fantastic if Batman gets a BD transfer. Im not looking foreward to paying for a lower quality release.
|
They're gonna abandon both formats and go with DivX and laser disc.
